Today’s finally the day when XX Revolution finally launches. They were originally set to launch in March, but the launch date was pushed back due to the global crisis.
The XX Revolution XXposure Highlighter Powder has been sneak peeked a few times by the Revolution team over the last few months, and it’s one of the most talked about products in the launch thus far – although that’s probably going to change now they’ve dropped 30+ new products in one go.
XX Revolution XXposure Highlighter Powder
If you’re unsure what the whole XX Revolution thing is about, it’s a brand-new sister brand for Revolution. Revolution market the new sister brand as being;
“The latest innovation from the makers of Makeup Revolution, XX is loaded with powerful active skincare ingredients. Choose your shade. Choose your finish. Choose your look. XXpress yourself. Always cruelty free.
Next gen beauty for gen now. It’s beauty rewired…“
So basically XX Revolution is supposedly a makeup brand that combines skincare ingredients with makeup.
However, it’s very important to realise that this is not a clean beauty range. I think there might be a little confusion about that, but they are supposedly launching a cleaner beauty brand later this year.
The XX Revolution XXposure Highlighter Powder is £12 and contains 15 grams of product, within a metallic pale pink compact with a ridge design on the lid.
So many people have said this XX Revolution XXposure Highlighter Powder is a dupe for Fenty, but the packaging and powder design is extremely similar to the Zoeva Visionary Light Highlighters, so if it’s ‘duping’ anything, it’s definitely more the Zoeva Highlighters than the Fenty Highlighters.
The XX Revolution XXposure Highlighter Powder is described as the following;
“Elite pigment, unreal shimmer, endless glow, meet the gotta-have XX Revolution XXposure Highlighters.
These glimmering highlighters will have you drippin’ in glow. Curated for a spectrum of skintones and array of undertones, find your match and glow your way. Whether you’re after a sun-touched glow or bronzed glow up, pick from the 12 shades to get lit.” – Revolution

Revolution really have nailed it with the XX Revolution XXposure Highlighter Powder shade range.
There are shades for all skin tones, including the very pale (like me) and also those with richer, deeper skin tones too.
Credit where it’s due, Revolution do know how to be inclusive, and many drugstore brands very much need to take a leaf out of their book.
I think I could get away with using Strobe, Echo and Reactive, and I’m tempted to add one to my order I am going to place later on today as I’m dying to try XX Revolution to see how it compares to their other brands.
If you like the look of this gorgeous new highlighter, it’s available right now…
