XX Revolution Hydra Fixx Hydrating Primer Review / Swatches

Out of all of the XX Revolution products, I feel like the XX Revolution Primers are the least spoken about, which is a shame as there’s loads of them!

The XX Revolution Hydra Fixx Hydrating Primer is just one of the primers, and in addition to the Hydra Fixx Primer, there’s also a Hydra Fixx Hydrating Setting Spray too.

The XX Revolution Hydra Fixx Hydrating Primer is £12 and contains 30ml of product within a super sleek, blue squeezy tube with a silver lid and pump.

The packaging looks so luxe for a drugstore primer, and whilst £12 is pricey for a ‘drugstore’ primer, when you compare it to the NYX Primers, which are £15, and their packaging isn’t remotely luxe.

The XX Revolution Hydra Fixx Hydrating Primer is a blue gel, with a thin viscous consistency which spreads easily over the skin, with a little going a long way.

This primer is specifically designed for a hydration boost, and the formula features Cactus, Aloe Water, Cherry Blossom & Hyaluronic Acid.

Once you’ve worked the primer into the skin, it does leave the skin slightly tacky which is what helps your makeup to adhere to the skin so well, but it’s not a primer I’d use on bare skin days as it is so tacky.

If I had to compare the formula of the XX Revolution Hydra Fixx Hydrating Primer to another brand’s formula, it would have to be the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer, which Smashbox discontinued a couple of years ago which was a travesty as it was amazing.

So I’m extremely happy to have found a dupe in the XX Revolution Hydra Fixx Hydrating Primer, and I’d 100% repurchase once I’ve finished, and I’d love to try the other primers in the XX Revolution range.
