Valentino Beauty Very Valentino Foundation
In the last few years, we’ve seen many fashion houses enter the beauty arena like Victoria Beckham Beauty, creating their own beauty collections with Byredo being one of the most recent launches.
As a whole, their beauty ranges have all been very well received, and I anticipate the same happening for Valentino Beauty.
Valentino Beauty are an extremely popular fashion brand, and their fragrance brand is extremely popular for the brand. I, myself, love the Valentino fragrances, especially Valentino Donna Eau de Parfum (review coming soon), so it makes perfect sense that their next step would be cosmetics.
To create the Valentino Beauty Very Valentino Foundation, Valentino worked with 5,000 woman from eight different countries across the globe, to ensure their debut foundation catered for enough skintones.
The Valentino Beauty Very Valentino Foundation features 40 inclusive shades which claim to ‘flatter everyone’. That’s a very bold claim from any brand, and I’ve ordered the lightest shade of the foundation myself, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the formula and shades are like.
The Valentino Beauty Very Valentino Foundation is described as having a natural, semi-matte finish, and the brand recommend applying the foundation over the top of their V-Lighter Dual-Use Face Base & Top Coat with your fingertips in the places you want to both hydrate and create glow.
It’s said to offer a sophisticated, semi-matte finish, and the coverage can be amplified by applying the corresponding Go-Clutch Perfecting Face Powder all over the face in a soft sweeping motion.
Any Valentino beauty collection was guaranteed to be pricey, as their very luxurious, and the Valentino Beauty Very Valentino Foundation is £46 for 25ml, so you’re getting a smaller bottle for the price too, as the industry standard volume for foundation is 30ml.
In terms of shades, the Valentino Beauty Very Valentino Foundation is available in 40 shades which are split up into shade categories, and Valentino has created this helpful guide;
- Skin tone: the first part of the shade name is for your skin tone: LIG for light, M for medium, D for deep
- Undertone: the second part is your undertone: R for Rosa (for cool undertones), N for Neutra (for neutral undertones), A for Ambra (for warm undertones)
- Intensity: the number is your skin colour intensity: from 1 (the lighter intensity) to 5 (the darker intensity)
I ordered the lightest shade; LIGR1 which is also known as being Light Rosa, and I’m excited to try it alongside the other item I ordered, and I will share honest reviews here on Makeup Muddle very soon.
Right now, the entire Valentino Beauty collection is exclusively only available from Selfridges, and you can find the entire Valentino Beauty range right here.
