Valentino Beauty Eye2Cheek Dual Use Blush & Shadow
When the brand dropped exclusively at Selfridges, I bought the foundation and this blusher, but as you can expect from a Valentino beauty brand, everything is quite expensive, with the most expensive product being £176 – yes, really.
The Valentino Beauty Eye2Cheek Dual Use Blush & Shadow is £45, and contains 3.6g of product. That is very expensive for a blusher compared to the price of Chanel or DIOR blushers, but the packaging and shades all looked so pretty, so I decided to give one of them a try.
“A versatile creamy powder that comes with an applicator to drape color from eyes to cheeks, or simply use it as a blush or as an eye shadow. Inspired by makeup looks from Valentino runways, the signature “Eye2cheek” look drapes your eyes with color from the cheeks to the eyelids.
Using the integrated applicator, apply using a half-moon gesture by starting from the eye crease, and pull out to the temple then blend round and down to the top of the cheek bone.
This powder can also be worn as a blush for a healthy flush of color on the cheekbone or as a mono eyeshadow to softly colorize your eyelids. Highly pigmented yet buildable, this creamy powder has a sheer finish that can be layered for a more intense color impact, adapting to your mood.”
The Valentino Beauty Eye2Cheek Dual Use Blush & Shadow is said to be inspired by the unique flattering light of Rome, with all of the shades being infused with the brand’s signature Roma-Light Complex, crafted with colour boosting pearls for a radiant colour result.
The Valentino Beauty Eye2Cheek Dual Use Blush & Shadow is available in twelve different shades, and the shade range includes pinks, to corals, oranges and plums.
The packaging is beautiful, with a luxurious red and gold metallic compact, complete with a Valentino stud enclosure, which you press to open the compact.
On the top of the lid, there’s a raised Valentino logo, and inside the compact, there’s a mirror and even a little brush for application. Many applicators included within blush compacts are terrible, but the quality of this brush is actually really nice, and it can be used both on the cheeks, or the eyes.
I chose the Valentino Beauty Eye2Cheek Dual Use Blush & Shadow in the shade Poudre, which is also known as shade 9. It’s a very pretty and pale skin-friendly muted peach, which looks so flattering and natural on the skin. It’s the kind of shade which works well as blush/bronzer hybrid, and it looks just as pretty on the cheeks as it does the eyes.
The packaging is beautiful, and feels very luxe. Is the formula anything new and unique? No. Does it look pretty on the skin and last all day? Yes. I wouldn’t purchase any other shades, but I am glad I own this one.
I know I could probably find a drugstore dupe for this specific shade for under £5 / $5, but it’s a blusher I thoroughly love using, and it looks just as pretty on the cheeks, as it does on the eyes.
