Tarte have launched numerous new products within the last ten days. Their newest addition is the Tarte Shape Tape Shaping Eyeshadow Palette which looks to just be an ULTA exclusive right now, but I imagine it’ll launch on the Tarte website imminently.
Tarte Shape Tape Shaping Eyeshadow Palette
In the last two weeks, we’ve seen the launch of a Maneater Makeup Brush Set, a Maneater Lip Plumper, a Tarte Maneater Lash & Glue Set, and a Maneater Eye & Face Palette. The Tarte Shape Tape Shaping Eyeshadow Palette is the newest of the new, and is on sale for $22.
This new eyeshadow palette is supposedly part of their Shape Tape Collection, but in all honesty, I don’t get it. Shape Tape is their award winning much loved concealer, and since the concealer launched, we’ve seen Shape Tape foundation, sponges, body makeup, other concealers, primer, setting sprays, moisturiser and now an eyeshadow palette.
The whole premise of the Shape Tape Concealer, was its ability to conceal, and shaping the face for contouring, sculpting and highlighting. I really don’t see how this eyeshadow palette fits that theme but I guess like Too Faced and their Sweet Peach Collection, and Urban Decay and their Naked Collection, they get a bestseller and just run with the theme indefinitely.
This new Tarte Shape Tape Shaping Eyeshadow Palette has cardboard packaging, with a purple, pink and gold design. There are eight shades, in both matte and shimmer finishes.
- Creates quick & easy looks while shaping eyes to give a more-lifted, younger-looking effect.
- Iconic Amazonian Clay formula delivers vibrant payoff that’s never chalky or patchy.
- Mineral Pigments: soothe & soften skin.
- 12 hour wear time.
The eight shades within the Tarte Shape Tape Shaping Eyeshadow Palette include;
- Glow Down (golden champagne shimmer)
- Shine On (matte soft pink)
- Rose Glow (rose gold shimmer)
- Beam (matte mauve)
- Twinkle (pale pink sheen)
- Stellar (matte peachy nude)
- Glimmer (rosy brown metallic)
- Glitz (dark brown sheen)
The Tarte Shape Tape Shaping Eyeshadow Palette looks nice enough, but it’s just not a wow kind of palette and there’s nothing new we haven’t seen already many times from the brand. I personally really rate the Tarte eyeshadow formula, so if you’ve perhaps never tried Tarte shadows, this might be the perfect starter palette, but I feel like they have much more interesting palettes in their collection.
