The Stila Tinted Moisturizer Skin Balm has been created to fortify the skin with moisturizers, antioxidants and natural extracts, while providing sheer-to-medium coverage with a natural sheen.

This new skin balm is designed for sensitive skin, with an innovative skincare and makeup blend to help restore the skin’s natural moisture balance with natural castor seed, sunflower seed and safflower seed oils.

Whilst vitamins C and E provide antioxidant protection and natural extracts including rice brand, rosemary leaf, camellia leaf and grapeseed help promote hydration and even skin tone.

The Stila Tinted Moisturizer Skin Balm is $32, contains 0.35 oz of product and is packaged within a golden, round compact with a mirror in the lid. The directions are super simple;

  • Apply with fluffy brush. Swirl brush over balm and lightly stroke on skin, blending outward from center of face.

The Stila Tinted Moisturizer Skin Balm is available in 8 shades; 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0. The shade range is really disappointing in all honesty, as there aren’t any fair shades and there are zero deep shades.

It just looks like 8 light to medium shades, which just isn’t good enough. How can brands like Revolution, Fenty and IT Cosmetics create 50 shades, and Stila can do 8?

Especially when this year there’s been a massive emphasis on Black lives matter, and brands being put in the spotlight to do better. I wouldn’t be able to find a shade that matches me, and people of colour wouldn’t either.

I hope that because the shades have zeros, they could then introduce more shades going forward, like 1.5, 7.5 etc, but right now, this shade range is really poor for a higher end brand.
