I’ve been a fan of the Soap & Glory makeup range for a good ten years now. When I started blogging (almost) ten years ago, their makeup was a lot more popular compared to now. Back then, Revolution didn’t exist, and brands like NYX, ELF and Wet n Wild weren’t available to buy in the UK.
So, the Soap & Glory makeup stand was one of the most exciting stands in Boots. I think I’ll always have a soft spot for the Soap & Glory makeup, and I’m always intrigued whenever they announce a new product.
Soap & Glory Glow & Dew It Skin Illuminating Base and Primer
The Soap & Glory Glow & Dew It Skin Illuminating Base and Primer launched back in 2020, as part of a Glow & Dew It Collection. As well as this primer, there’s also a powder highlighter, and a liquid highlighter, all of which are designed to impart a gorgeous, radiant glow.
Lightweight, luminous finish skin perfecting base and primer. The dual emulsion liquid blends seamlessly into skin leaving behind a healthier, dewier and fresher looking complexion that feels hydrated and nourished. Wear alone to put your best face forward or under makeup.
The Soap & Glory Glow & Dew It Skin Illuminating Base and Primer is £12.99 for 30ml of product. To me, that’s expensive for Soap & Glory makeup, but luckily, Soap & Glory products are permanently on some sort of deal or offer. At the time of writing this review, there’s a three products for £20 deal on, with Soap & Glory makeup.
This primer and illuminator all-in-one has a thin consistency, and has a noticeable bronze shimmery tint. Whilst it looks quite bronze in these swatches, I assure you, once blended, the primer doesn’t leave a detectable tint to the skin. It’s quite subtle when blended in, which I didn’t expect, as it looks very shimmery and intense when you squeeze it from the tube.
The shimmer isn’t very noticeable unless you look up close in a mirror, but it does leave behind a pretty, almost glass skin-like glow. I can’t think of another product that’s comparable in terms of glow, and consistency, but it is a nice primer.
I don’t find that it prolongs the longevity of my makeup, so it’s definitely more of an illuminator than it is a primer, but the Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Primer is a great traditional primer, which I love with the matching One Heck Of A Blot Pressed Powder.
