The Riki Loves Riki Pride Edition Skinny Mirror has launched today to coincide with June being Pride Month. Some brands have gone all out with a Pride inspired product/collection, and some like NYX, just repackaged an existing palette and called it a Pride Palette…
Riki Loves Riki Pride Edition Skinny Mirror
When I first saw the Riki Loves Riki Pride Edition Skinny Mirror, I thought they were like NYX with a poor Pride inspired product but at least Riki Loves Riki are making a sizeable donation with their product.
If you’ve never come across Riki Loves Riki before, they’re a mirror brand that specialises in light up mirrors to aid makeup application.
I’m not going to lie, their mirrors are hella pricey but the light up function is said to be good enough for live IGTV videos and Instagram Stories which is why they’re so popular, especially for those that love makeup.
The Riki Loves Riki Pride Edition Skinny Mirror is not a new version, it’s just their Skinny Mirror and retails for £175 / $205 (crazy I know).
”With 5 stages of dimming, the Riki Loves Riki Skinny gives you full control of the level of detail you want to see.
Riki Loves Riki’s legendary quality LEDs have been intricately and masterfully hand-crafted for the Riki Skinny.
They spent over two years designing this color blend and the data speaks for itself. What can you do with the Riki Skinny? Makeup and skincare, record or follow along videos and tutorials, take perfect selfies.” – Riki Loves Riki
The Riki Loves Riki Pride Edition Skinny Mirror is literally their same Skinny Mirror except it comes with a rainbow coloured heart that you can stick to the back of your mirror.
That’s literally it. To be called a ‘Pride Edition’, you’d expect a lot more than just one rainbow sticker that you can’t even see whilst using the mirror.
However, in the brand’s defence;
”40% of proceeds from Riki Loves Riki’s Pride collection will go to the Trevor Project, which helps provide support to LGBTQ+ youth.”
That is a generous chunk of proceeds to donate, especially on a mirror that’s £175 / $205 to buy. I don’t own any of their mirrors, so I can’t vouch for them either way, but if a rainbow sticker appeals to you, it’s available right now.
