Revolution x The Grinch Whoville Gift Set
Revolution haven’t even announced the Grinch collaboration yet, so it’s strange that the collection is available at Revolution stockists like Beauty Bay and Boozyshop.
I imagine they’re waiting for their Halloween collabs to be revealed first, but I did see the owner of Revolution confirm that there’s more to come for this collaboration, and it isn’t just the gift sets and advent calendar, so that’s exciting.
The Revolution x The Grinch Whoville Gift Set is themed around Cindy-Lou-Who from The Grinch, and is priced at £15. It’s a three piece gift set, and comes with two makeup items, and a large red bow hairband.
If you’ve seen The Grinch, you’ll know Cindy-Lou-Who is known for her red bow, and the box is even designed to look like Cindy-Lou on the front, with the bow in place above her head, which is just adorable.
As far as hairbands go, it’s actually a nice quality one. It has a slightly flexible band, so it’ll cater for all ages, and the bow is a thick material, so it stands up without flopping over.
It won’t be for everyone, but if you love a statement hair accessory and/or The Grinch, you’ll love this set. As well as the hairband, there’s also two makeup products inside the set too.
The first of the two makeup items inside the Revolution x The Grinch Whoville Gift Set is the Revolution x The Grinch Blusher. There’s no shade name for the blush, sadly, but it’s a teeny tiny blush at just 2g.
This is a powder blusher, housed within a bright red compact with Max The Dog on the front, wearing his DIY reindeer antlers. Then, inside the blusher, there’s a raised paw print design.
As you can see from the swatch, the Revolution x The Grinch Blusher is a bubblegum pink, with a strong blue undertone. This colour reminds me of MAC Well Dressed SO much, even with the formula being comparable.
I know this shade isn’t going to work for many people as it’s so very pale, but it is the colour Cindy-Lou-Who wore, so it fits the theme perfectly. It’s a satin blush, and has a lovely smooth formula.
The last item inside the Revolution x The Grinch Whoville Gift Set is the Revolution x The Grinch Lip and Cheek Tint. Like the blusher, this is a tiny product with just 1.8ml.
It has a clear plastic tube, with a patterned pink lid. This doesn’t have a shade name either, which is such a shame. The products in the Grinch Advent Calendar were nameless, too, which feels like a wasted opportunity.
Inside the tube, the lip and cheek tint has a doefoot applicator. Looking at the tube, this tint looks like a bright bubblegum pink – matching the powder blusher perfectly, however, it’s actually much deeper when applied to the skin, which I didn’t expect.
It’s a brighter, deeper pink, and wow does it stain! Just this swatch stained for hours, and it was only on the skin for seconds. I didn’t expect it to stain so vividly, as it looks like a muted pale pink in the tube, so ensure you use it sparingly.
There’s no doubt, the Revolution x The Grinch Whoville Gift Set is adorable. I wish the makeup items were a little bigger, as the set is £15 after all, but you are getting the big hairband too, and this set is available right now.
