Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022 [Review + Swatches]

There’s an exciting Revolution Christmas collaboration happening, and it’s the Revolution x The Grinch collaboration, which includes the Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022.

Last year, we saw I Heart Revolution collaborate with Elf for a collection, but I think a Grinch collection is even more exciting, and from the products I have got my hands on from the collection, it’s one of the best Revolution collaborations to date. Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022

Revolution have SO many beauty advent calendars available this year, from all of their sister brands, with calendars for every budget.

Not only is there a Revolution The Grinch Beauty Advent Calendar, there’s even a Revolution Game Of Thrones Advent Calendar too (which I also have to show you very soon).

The Revolution Grinch Advent Calendar is a bright red foil cardboard box, with a green foil image of The Grinch on the front, with white snowflakes all over the front. It’s quite a small calendar, as it’s only a twelve-day advent calendar.

When you lift the lid of the box, there are twelve numbered red foil and lime green foil boxes containing all of the beauty products. On the boxes there are iconic Dr Seuss The Grinch quotes like;

• Let’s just not.
• I’m sorry I was late, I didn’t want to come!
• I ignored you fine the first time.
• Grinch, please!
• Do I look like a people person?
• I don’t do ‘warm and cuddly’.
• I wish more people were fluent in silent.
• This is as merry as it gets.
• I wish I could invoice people for wasting my time.
• I’m not mad. It’s just how my face looks.
• I don’t like morning people, or mornings, or people.
• People say I act like I don’t care. It’s not an act!

As well as having Grinch quotes, the twelve boxes inside the Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022 feature cute illustrations of the characters from the movie, like Cindy-Lou-Who, The Grinch (obviously) and Max, which is a cute little touch.

I love that Revolution has put as much attention into detail inside the calendar, as they have to the exterior, and that amazing attention to detail is continued to the products themselves, inside the boxes.

The first product inside the Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022 is actually a double product, as there’s two items inside the first box. It’s two The Grinch patterned makeup brushes.

The two brushes have lime green plastic handles, silver metal ferrules and lime green bristles.

On the handles, there’s an illustrated pattern featuring The Grinch, Max and Cindy-Lou-Who. One of the brushes is a ‘concealer brush’ and the other is an ‘eyeshadow brush’.

Day number two of the Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022 features a Revolution x The Grinch Lip Balm. It’s housed within a lime green plastic tube with The Grinch on the lid.

It’s a full sized lip balm with 4g, and the lip balm is green in colour, but it’s completely clear on the lips. In terms of scent and flavour, there isn’t really one.

It’s completely tasteless and fragrance free, which is a shame, as Revolution does some really delicious scents for their lip products.

For day three, we have another lip product, and this time it’s the Revolution x The Grinch Lipstick, which is another full sized product, with 3.8g.

This lipstick is housed in a bright red plastic tube, with a printed design on the lid with The Grinch, Max and Cindy-Lou-Who.

Like the packaging suggests, it’s a bright red lipstick – with no specific shade name, but it’s perfect for Christmas.

Day number four is another lip product (so three lip products in a row) and this time it’s the Revolution x The Grinch Lip Gloss. It’s a mini gloss this time, with just 1.8ml.

There’s no specific shade name, but it’s a bright red, and matches the shade of the lipstick just perfectly. There’s also the same pattern effect on the lid, to match that on the lipstick.

For day five of the Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022, you get something super cute, and it’s a red and white velour hair scrunchie. It’s adorable, and insanely soft.

The photo online made it look a little tacky, but to be fair, it’s actually a really nice, well made hair scrunchie, and will be perfect for any festive parties or for wearing on Christmas Day.

Day six is a bright yellow (to match the yellow colour of The Grinch’s eyes), teardrop shaped beauty sponge.

On the sponge, Revolution x The Grinch is etched on one side, and the opposite side, there’s an etched design of The Grinch himself. It’s quite a dense, hard sponge, but hopefully it’ll soften once dampened.

The Revolution Grinch Advent Calendar 2022 next features another makeup product for day seven, and it’s the Revolution x The Grinch Highlighter 2g.

It’s a mini powder highlighter, with a bright lime green compact, with an image of The Grinch on the front.

Inside the compact, there’s a super pretty white gold with a yellow gold shift. The highlighter has a raised The Grinch pattern on it, and it’s a lovely smooth powder highlighter, with no glitter or chunkiness.

Day eight is the Revolution x The Grinch Fixing Spray 30ml, which is a mini size. This setting spray has a clear bottle, with a red foil label and a green lid, with a pump dispenser.

This setting spray smells incredible, and just like grape. It’s the nicest smelling setting spray I’ve ever tried from Revolution.

There’s another hair accessory for day nine, and it’s a brown velour hair scrunchie with two little gold glittery antlers, like a reindeer.

It’s nice quality, just like the other scrunchie within the calendar, and is mega stretchy, so would work for those with lots of hair.

Day ten is the largest box in the Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022, and inside there’s a reindeer, stretchy hairband with little brown antlers, and cute little ears.

I can’t get over how adorable this hairband is, and it’s perfect for using to pull your hair back when doing your skincare routine, or applying your makeup. It’s super silky and soft, and nice and stretchy, so it’ll work for all ages.

For day eleven of the Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022, you get a palette. I’m surprised it took so long to get a palette, but we get one on day eleven, and it’s the Revolution x The Grinch Cindy-Lou Who Good Eyeshadow Palette.

It’s a square palette with cardboard packaging (just like the Revolution x Friends Eyeshadow Palettes) with lime green foil, and on the front, there’s an image of Cindy-Lou-Who and Max.

I love the design, as the whole palette is patterned, even the interior, and around the mirror. The palette has nine powder shadows, and Revolution has even included an embossed design on three shades (one has Max etched into it, one has The Grinch and one has Cindy-Lou-Who).

The shades aren’t individually named, but the shades are all very warm toned, with oranges, golds and browns, with five mattes and four shimmers.

It’s a beautiful palette, for sure. I can’t believe how pigmented the shades all are, especially the mattes – they’re super pigmented, smooth and blendable.

Finally, it’s day twelve and the last day of the calendar, and the final gift is a pretty epic The Grinch shaped compact mirror.

The mirror has a raised, The Grinch ‘Snarky’ face design, and whilst the mirror is shaped like The Grinch’s head, the mirror is circular on the underside.

As far as compact mirrors go, in advent calendars, it’s a cool design. Although, why on earth did they not give us the palette on the last day?

It’s the best item in the whole calendar and 100% should have been day twelve, but at least it’s a fab little mirror design.

If you love The Grinch and / or Dr Seuss in general, you’re going to want to get your hands on the Revolution x The Grinch Advent Calendar 2022. It nailed the Grinch theme, it’s perfectly festive, and the products are all really nice quality.

Even the hair accessories, which typically tend to be the ‘filler’ least quality products, but they’re actually some of my favourites from the whole calendar.
