Back in May, Revolution announced their latest round of their influencer collaborations with Soph, which included the Revolution x Soph Candy Icing Lip Kit.
Revolution has collaborated with Soph many times over the years, and this latest round of the collaboration included two eyeshadow palettes, two lip kits and three highlighter palettes, which is the largest range they’ve ever produced together.
“Sugar, spice, and all things bright! Introducing the latest Revolution x Soph collection. Influencer soph is back with her biggest collection ever and this time it’s looking sweet as candy.
Complete your look with the sweet AF Revolution x Soph Lip Kit collection. Glaze your lips with the lip kit of your dreams for the perfect candy pout. Each kit contains a lip liner & lip balm for ultimate hydration and definition wherever you go!“
Revolution has launched a lot of lip kits in the past, and they were actually the first drugstore brand to launch a lip liner and liquid lipstick lip kit brand, following the popularity of the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits.
However, the Revolution x Soph Candy Icing Lip Kit is different to all of their previous lip kits, as this kit (and the other kit; Toffee Drizzle) features a tinted lip balm, and a lip liner pencil in complementary tones.
We’ve never seen Revolution do tinted lip balms before these Soph kits launch, and it’s always good to see them do something new and exciting.
Since the Revolution x Soph Candy Icing Lip Kit launched in May, Revolution have gone on to launch other tinted lip balms, and I absolutely love them (review right here).
Inside the Revolution x Soph Candy Icing Lip Kit, you get a twist-up tinted lip balm, and a pencil lip liner, and the balm has a delicious sweet vanilla scent, which smells very similar to the iconic MAC vanilla lipstick scent – it smells so good!
The Candy Icing Lip Kit is the lightest kit from the two, with the Toffee Drizzle kit being a dark brown nude, whereas Candy Icing comes with a nude beige lip balm, and the lip liner is a deep terracotta nude.
I wish there was a pinker version of this very same lip kit, as I really love the formula, but I wish the lip liner wasn’t as deep, as it’s considerably deeper than the lip balm. You can obviously use the balm and liner alone, or paired together, but the balm is my favourite out of the liner and lip balm duo.
Considering the Revolution x Soph Candy Icing Lip Kit is just £8, it’s a bargain to get a super soft, super pigmented lip liner pencil, and a nourishing tinted lip balm, and here’s hoping we see more of these tinted lip balm lip kits going forward, as the quality is amazing!
