Revolution x Petra XOXO Eyeshadow Palette

So today is finally the day that the second round of the Revolution PetraLovelyHair collaboration has launched including the Revolution x Petra XOXO Eyeshadow Palette.

Petra originally collaborated with Revolution back in 2018, where they created a beautiful eyeshadow palette. I love that palette, and it’s one of my most used Revolution palettes, so I’m very happy that they’ve collaborated again, and not only that, they’ve created yet another eyeshadow palette.

The original Revolution PetraLovelyHair Eyeshadow Palette contained 36 eyeshadows, had a matte black outer casing, and had the unique double sided palette design where the palette opens to reveal 18 shadows in each half of the palette.

Petra has used the same unique design for the new Revolution x Petra XOXO Eyeshadow Palette too. There’s no mirror, but there’s also no excess packaging, as it’s just all about the eyeshadows.

This time, the Revolution x Petra XOXO Eyeshadow Palette has a pretty mauve pink colour with white writing on the front, and the palette is £12 just like the original version.

Each row within the palette has six shades, and the palette comes boxed within a beautiful silver glitter box. The original palette had a marble design cardboard box, but this one has the wow factor with the pretty glitter.

The first palette had the shades separated almost by tone, with one half of the palette having warmer tones and the second half of the palette was a lot cooler toned in comparison.

This new palette within the collaboration, looks a lot more mixed but there’s quite a lot more colour than the original too. There were colourful shades in the original, but this Revolution x Petra XOXO Eyeshadow Palette has bright colours on almost every row.

I am not the most adventurous with colour when it comes to eye makeup, but the colourful shades within this palette look stunning. I love that Petra has individually named the shades again, and the shades are printed under each pan so you don’t have the annoying acetate sheet which you’ll inevitably lose.

If you’d like to see the palette up close, Petra has uploaded a video on her YouTube channel, and there’s also a video over on her Instagram page too.

It’s so hard to choose a favourite, as there are so many pretty shades but I think I’d have to choose Highly Rated (which has a marbled effect pan like the Huda Beauty New Nude Palette), 3 Words 8 Letters, XOXO, It Girl and Maldives.

The shades include a mixture of finishes, with matte, shimmer, satin and foil finishes. They all look super pigmented in these swatches, and there doesn’t appear to be any disappointing shadows within the whole eyeshadow palette.

In addition to the Revolution x Petra XOXO Eyeshadow Palette, there’s also a XOXO Face Contour and Highlight Palette, and also a XOXO Lip Collection with three pretty nude lip colours within the collection.

I love that the collection was expanded this time, and whilst you can no longer purchase the original version of this palette, the Revolution x Petra XOXO Eyeshadow Palette, it’s available to purchase right now on the Revolution website.
