Revolution x Friends Rachel Lip Kit Review / Swatches

Revolution x Friends Rachel Lip Kit

The Revolution x Friends Rachel Lip Kit, Phoebe Lip Kit and Monica Lip Kit launched a couple of weeks after the whole Revolution x Friends Round 3 Collection dropped. I don’t know why they didn’t launch at the same time, but they’re all available now, and that’s all that matters.

Each of the Revolution x Friends Lip Kits are £8.99 / $12 each, and there’s a lip kit for all three women cast members; Monica, Phoebe and Rachel. Inside each lip kit, there’s one lip liner pencil and two lip glosses in complementary shades.

Finish off your Friends look with the Friends Lip Kits including two pigmented, high shine lip glosses and a complimenting lip liner in iconic nude shades inspired by each friend’s character.

For an ultra-90’s look apply the lip liner to the outlines of the lips, apply the darker gloss shade all over the lips and apply the lighter gloss shade directly in the centre for an ombre finish.

From the three lip kits on offer, I chose the Revolution x Friends Rachel Lip Kit as it was described as being a pinky nude lip kit. Monica’s Lip Kit looked like a grungy brown, whilst the Phoebe Lip Kit was a brown toned lip kits.

Within the Rachel Kit, you get a pinky nude creme lip gloss, a deep pinky red gloss and a deep pinky red lip liner. The shades are a lot deeper than the stock images on the Revolution website, so I’m a little disappointed as I don’t feel like this is nude at all, it’s almost a straight-up red lip kit with one pinky nude gloss.

I can’t recall Rachel ever wearing red lips throughout the ten different series, so they’re strange shade choices as they don’t match the shades Rachel wore.

She wore MAC Spice Lip Liner and MAC Touch Lipstick in every single series (according to her makeup artist), and none of these shades within the Revolution x Friends Rachel Lip Kit are similar. I would love Revolution to create some MAC shade dupes.

Ignoring the shade choices, the lip liner within this lip kit is one of the most longwearing lip liners I’ve ever tried. Even after eight hours, it’s still in place and if anything, it’s difficult to remove, so if you’re after a long wearing lip liner, the formula of the liner is incredible, and the two glosses are comfortable to wear too.
