This past week saw the launch of the Revolution x Friends Open The Door Eyeshadow Palette as part of the Revolution x Friends Volume 2 Collection. Revolution first collaborated with Friends back in September, and this volume 2 collection is mainly focused on bath and body products. The first round of the collab was all about the makeup with palettes, lip glosses and makeup bags.
Revolution x Friends Open The Door Eyeshadow Palette
The Revolution x Friends Volume 2 Collection includes a few large palettes, some bath bombs, lip care products, and even a reusable coffee cup. The Revolution x Friends Open The Door Eyeshadow Palette is one of three large, themed eyeshadow palettes and each of the palettes are £20 each.
Each of the three palettes contain 21 shades, and have pretty cute packaging. You can choose from;
- Revolution x Friends Open The Door Eyeshadow Palette
- Revolution x Friends He’s Her Lobster Eyeshadow Palette
- Revolution x Friends Take a Drive Eyeshadow Palette
This particular palette is shaped to resemble the yellow picture frame on the back of Monica’s purple door, which framed the door’s spy hole in the middle.
This frame is one of the most iconic pieces from the Friends’ set, so it’s cute that Revolution have run with the Friends theme to create a palette in the shape of the frame. In the original volume 1 of the collection, there was a handheld mirror in the shape of the frame too.
The Revolution x Friends Open The Door Eyeshadow Palette has a mirror inside the lid, and the design is very unique, as the front of the ‘frame’ is attached with two silver rings – like those you’d see on a ring binder. I’d assume that the two pieces of the frame are magnetised, but it’s very different.
Inside the palette, the 21 shades feature an embossed frame detail on all of the matte shades. It appears that there are fourteen mattes and seven shimmers.
That’s a lot of mattes, so if you prefer matte heavy palettes, you might really enjoy the Revolution x Friends Open The Door Eyeshadow Palette. Usually brands tend to opt for more shimmers than mattes, so it’s nice again that this palette offers something a little different.
I like the rosy colour story within this palette, as there’s some pretty pinks and corals, mixed with some super wearable neutrals. I think this palette is my favourite from the three Revolution x Friends 3D Palettes, and it’s available right now, if you too fancy giving it a try.
