The Revolution Skincare Hydro Bank Hydrating and Cooling Eye Balm launched back in April, as part of the Revolution Skincare Hydro Bank collection.
There are seven products within the Hydro Bank collection, and everything is designed to offer hydration and nourishment for the skin, and the balm was the product I was most looking forward to trying as well as the Hydrating Moisture Mist.
“Here for the hydration? Discover the Revolution Skincare Hydro Bank collection. Water-light gel textures. Maximum hydration. All made with a blend of key hydrating actives that help to soften and brighten lacklustre skin.
A game-changer for eye care! The Revolution Skincare Hydro Bank Hydrating & Cooling Eye Balm is an innovative eye balm that delivers instant, cooling hydration around the delicate eye area.”
The Revolution Skincare Hydro Bank Hydrating and Cooling Eye Balm is £8 / $12, and contains 6g / 0.21 oz of product within a white plastic tube, which has a twist up mechanism within the base.
The balm is a solid translucent blue balm stick, which pushes up and down with the twist up mechanism, and is designed to be applied directly onto the skin. It is a small stick, but it is designed for use around the eyes, so it needs to be small otherwise it wouldn’t fit under and around the eye contour area.
- Hyaluronic Acid – a Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF) found in the skin that helps bind to water and keeps the skin hydrated.
- Glycerin – a widely used humectant that helps to draw moisture into the skin.
As soon as I saw the Revolution Skincare Hydro Bank Hydrating and Cooling Eye Balm, I did wonder whether it was a dupe for the Tony Moly Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick, and I’d say that it actually is.
They have the same texture and consistency, and give the same cooling and hydrating effect on the skin. I love the panda packaging on my Tony Moly stick, but I know it wouldn’t be for everyone, so those who don’t want to whip a panda out of their makeup bag in public, might prefer the sleek white Revolution Skincare Hydro Bank Hydrating and Cooling Eye Balm.
I’ve tried solid eye balms before which have had a high alcohol content and leave my skin stinging, but the Revolution Skincare Hydro Bank Hydrating and Cooling Eye Balm is lovely to use. It’s particularly great after crying (it’s been a tough week), and you want to de-puff your eyes, or when you’re suffering from hayfever and your eyes feel tight or uncomfortable.
Revolution Skincare described as being a balm, which might put people off incase it’s too thick or oily, but it’s more of a serum in a stick format. It’s so pleasant to use, and it’s even more enjoyable once it’s been in the fridge, which feels even more amazing on hot days too.
