Out of all the many Revolution sister brands, Revolution Pro is my favourite, and when the Revolution Pro Rockstar Hydrating Shine Lipsticks launched back at the end of April, I knew I had to order at least one shade on launch day.
After being so wowed by their Moments Eyeshadow Palette collection, I couldn’t wait to try their new lipstick formula, and see how it compared to their other Revolution Pro lipsticks.
The Revolution Pro Rockstar Hydrating Shine Lipstick Collection has launched as part of the Revolution Pro Rockstar collection, which already features two large eyeshadow palettes, liquid eyeliners and pencil eyeliner pencils. These lipsticks are a great addition to the range, and there’s six luxury shades to choose from.
“Want high-shine glamour and incredible colour in one swipe? Look no further than the Revolution Pro Rockstar Hydrating Shine Lipsticks!
These highly-pigmented lipsticks are formulated with 7 key actives to give amazing care benefits to your lips, whilst providing intense colour and shine; a true Rockstar for your lips!”
Priced at £8 each, the six lipsticks have amazingly luxurious packaging for a drugstore lipstick launch. They scream a Tom Ford aesthetic, whilst being £36 cheaper.
Yes, really. Each of the lipsticks is housed within a glossy cream and gold chrome casing, and they feel nicely weighted in the hand, just like my Tom Ford lipsticks do.
- Hyaluronic Acid – to help keep lips hydrated
- Peptides – to help keep lips looking plump
- Squalane – to help keep lips soft and smooth
- Aloe Vera – to help keep lips moisturised
- Shea Butter – helps retain moisture and avoid dry lips
- Jojoba Oil – to help sooth and condition lips
- Cherry Blossom Oil – to help maintain lips natural pigmentation and colour
The six shades include two pinks, two nudes, one bright red and a deep vampy brown. All six shades are undeniably beautiful, and I have to say, they look even more beautiful in real life both in terms of packaging, and shade.
I chose Stripped as my first shade, as I can’t ever resist a pink toned nude, and it’s the prettiest nude I’ve tried from Revolution, and let me tell you, I’ve tried a lot over the years.
This formula is extremely creamy, smooth and pigmented, and it’s seriously comparable to the YSL Rouge Volupté formula, and the Tom Ford Lip Color formula too.
I had to show you swatches of one single swipe, and then multiple swipes, so you could see how pigmented the Revolution Pro Rockstar Hydrating Shine Lipstick formula is.
The formula feels so comfortable on the lips, and for £8, I genuinely don’t think you’ll find a better lipstick formula under £10 from the drugstore.
