When Revolution launched their Ultimate Eye Look Palette Collection, I knew I needed at least one and I decided to buy the Revolution Pro Diamonds and Pearls Ultimate Eye Look Palette.
I did a feature post on both the So Jaded palette and the Diamonds & Pearls palette, as they were my two favourite palettes in the collection.
Revolution Pro Diamonds and Pearls Ultimate Eye Look Palette
There are six palettes in the collection;
- Diamonds & Pearls
- Quartz Crush
- So Jaded
- Wild Onyx
- Ocean Treasure
- Hidden Jewels
Each of the six palettes are part of a luxurious collection, and each palette has its own special jewel encrusted lid.
The lid design tends to reflect the shades inside the palette, so the ‘green’ So Jaded Palette features green crystals and glitter, and the Revolution Pro Diamonds and Pearls Ultimate Eye Look Palette features ‘diamonds and pearls’.
The four pans contain 0.8g of product which is less than a gram per shadow, which really isn’t a lot. Especially when you consider you’re paying £10 for four shades, as it’s obviously the expensive packaging you’re paying for. The top of the palette features hundreds of iridescent plastic crystals, and twelve pearls.
The little crystals do fall off, but if you had a phone case with similar crystals, they fall off phone cases too. When I pulled the Revolution Pro Diamonds and Pearls Ultimate Eye Look Palette out of the box, there were six loose crystals in the bottom of the box.
You are going to have to look after the palette, and not carry it in your makeup bag as you’d damage the beautiful packaging.
“Featuring a mesmerising Diamond and Pearl encrusted case, this palette is the perfect luxury addition to your makeup bag!
For a neutral glam look, buff the dark brown shade into the crease of the eye and highlight the inner corner and brow bone with the gold or pearl shade to brighten the eye.“
The palettes are £10 each, and they all contain four powder eyeshadows in a mixture of finishes. The finishes do vary from palette to palette, and the stock images really don’t do the shadows justice.
I saw comments on Instagram posts where Revolution fans were complaining the quads were all ‘shimmers’ but they definitely aren’t all shimmer shadow.
The Revolution Pro Diamonds and Pearls Ultimate Eye Look Palette includes three different finishes. The first two shades in the quad are matte, the third shade is a foil and the fourth shade is a shimmer.
These swatches are without primer, and are just from circling my finger in the pan twice and swatching in one single swipe so you can see the colour pay off.
On the eyes you can obviously layer them, or apply over the primer but how incredible is this pigmentation?
The mattes and super soft and buttery, the foil is the most amazing foil eyeshadow I’ve tried and the shimmer is beautifully smooth.
I wanted to include a photo of the Revolution Pro Diamonds and Pearls Ultimate Eye Look Palette post-swatch as the foil shade is very flaky, the mattes are crumbly and the shimmer is a little flaky.
I normally wouldn’t love that in a palette, but the amazing pigmentation is worth it. The foil shade needs to be applied with your fingertip as it helps to flatten the flakes against the eyelid, otherwise your brush will end up flicking the flakes everywhere.
This range of palettes is all about the packaging, but even if the palette was a plain gold compact, I’d still be seriously wowed by the quality.
The pigmentation and colour pay off is the best I’ve ever seen from Revolution brand, and I’ve tried at least 50 of their palettes since their initial launch.
I need to try the other palettes now, and I hope they’re as good as the Revolution Pro Diamonds and Pearls Ultimate Eye Look Palette. If you’ve been on the fence about trying these palettes, you have to try this one at the very least, I promise you will not be disappointed.
