If you’re a fan of the Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer or Foundation, Revolution have launched a new product as part of their Conceal & Define range. The Revolution Conceal & Define Oil Priming Serum is one of two new primer serums, alongside the Revolution Conceal & Define Blur Priming Serum. Both Priming Serums are £10 and they each contain 30ml.

“Introducing Conceal & Define skincare. This oil priming serum is created to nourish skin whilst giving a demi-matt finish to our best-selling Conceal and Define Foundation.
Formulated with a blend of rosehip oil, peach kernel oil and jojoba oil to nourish and create a silky base that’s perfect for foundation. This oil serum/primer duo is the perfect combination of skincare meets makeup. What a blurring finish? Try the Conceal & Define Blur Priming Serum.“
Apply to face morning and night for best results.
Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polysilicone-11, Prunus Persica Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Tocopherol, Retinyl Palmitate, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride.
The serums come inside metallic rose gold boxes, and have frosted glass bottles. They each have a pump, and a clear lid too. It sounds like a good primer oil to apply before foundation, as the silicones will help your foundation to glide over the skin for a smoother finish, and Revolution suggest layering it with your full coverage foundation for a demi-matte finish which suggests that the Revolution Conceal & Define Oil Priming Serum leaves the skin very glowy.
I’m surprised that the directions recommend applying both morning and night, as you wouldn’t apply a primer at night time. Especially as this ‘priming serum’ contains a lot of silicone, which isn’t something you’d necessarily want to leave on your skin overnight as your slept.
Sure silicone is effective in primers as it aids foundation application, but it’s not really a skincare product just because it contains a few oils. If you’re looking for a better suited product for your evening skincare routine, Revolution have an extensive skincare range which has more appropriate products.
