Revolution Balayage Brow Pencil

Create your ultimate brow look with Revolution Balayage Brow. Sculpt a natural or full multi-dimensional brow with this duel toned, dual ended brow pencil & brush.

Essentially, the Revolution Balayage Brow, is a brow pencil with two ends. Each of which houses a brow pencil, and one of the caps has a brow brush built in, to help you blend the colour through your brows.

One side of the pencil houses an angled brow pencil nib (similar to that seen in their Laminate Brow Pencil), to help you outline your brows, and create your desired shape. Then the opposite end houses a micro brow pencil which can be used for creating hair-like strokes throughout your brows.

You can obviously use the two ends however you please, but the micro pencil gives a softer look, whereas the angled brow pencil creates more definition and shape.

There are three shades to choose from:

  • Ash Brown
  • Brown
  • Dark Brown

Revolution are usually a little more inclusive with their shade ranges, so three shades is a little surprising. It’d be nice to see shades cater for blondes, greys, red heads and those with black hair too. Perhaps more shades will be introduced in time?

From what I can see, the Revolution Balayage Brow Pencil is just one shade per pencil. You just have two different shapes of brow pencil. I could be wrong, but that’s the vibe I’m getting from the product description on their website, so I’m a little confused on what makes this balayage?

*They’ve posted an image on their Instagram saying each of the pencils have two shades, but there’s no mention on their website.*

Balayage is a technique where hair colour is painted onto the hair to create a graduated, more natural-looking highlight effect. So it’s about multiple colours, so for this brow pencil to give a balayage effect, it’d need to be two different shades, but it isn’t.

Technically you could use a single angled brow pencil to do it all, by just varying the amount of pressure you’re using when drawing your brows.

I really hope the Revolution Balayage Brow Pencil does feature two different shades, as I’d snap it up instantly as I love the idea. I bought their Brow Laminate which also recently launched, and I love that, so I’d like to try this one too to see how they compare?

Revolution haven’t shared swatches yet, so we don’t know if the colours are different, but once they have shared swatches, I’ll be sure to update this post.
