Pat McGrath are having sales once a month right now, and I ordered the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership III Subversive Eyeshadow Palette back in February, when I bought the Love & Lust Gloss Duo. Keep on reading to find out all about this beauty of a palette…

Pat McGrath Labs Mothership III Subversive Eyeshadow Palette
The Pat McGrath Labs Mothership Palettes are pricey palettes. There’s absolutely no denying it. They’re £115 / $125, and twelve months ago I would never have bought one incase I was disappointed. I assumed the brand was overpriced, and overhyped – but that was without trying any of their products.
I finally made my first Pat McGrath purchase with the Eye Ectasy Sublime Palette (review here), which was in the sale, and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the eyeshadows.
I then decided to purchase the Mega Celestial Divinity holiday palette (review here), and that palette is one of the most beautiful palettes I’ve ever, ever tried.
The Pat McGrath Labs Mothership III Subversive Eyeshadow Palette is one of eight Mothership Palettes, each of which have ten shades inside a black lacquered effect plastic palette with a mirror inside the lid. The packaging is so very luxurious, and the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership III Subversive Eyeshadow Palette is no different.
“A provocative collection of 10 cult-classic shades in vivid violets, mutational blues, sumptuous greens and signature matte neutrals that offer pure vibrant colour saturation and diamond sparkle intensity, all married in one iconic palette.”
The Pat McGrath Labs Mothership III Subversive Eyeshadow Palette features ten shades, six of which are PowderLuxe Pressed Eyeshadows featuring an innovative formula with matte, pearl and sparkle finishes.
Then there’s four incredible, modern hybrid pigmented formulas in metallic, satin sheen, iridescence, and holographic brilliance finishes.
There’s two of these special shades on each row, and the above photo shows close ups of the four multichrome shades inside the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership III Subversive Eyeshadow Palette.
Skinshow Fever / Night Creature / Deep Shade
Gigabyte / VR Pink
Xtreme Black / Lazarus / Black Metal
Blitz Amethyst / Astral Ghost Orchid
I think the swatches of the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership III Subversive Eyeshadow Palette speak for themselves. Every single one of the ten shades is incredible. They’re all soft, super pigmented, smooth and blend beautifully on the eyes.
The stars of the palette are the four multidimensional multichromes, as they have almost a cream consistency which looks like liquid metal on the eyes. They apply with a brush, but they come to life when you apply them with your fingertips.
There are no other brands which create eyeshadows like Pat McGrath. I know there’s a lot of indie brands creating multichrome shadows, but the shadows within the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership III Subversive Eyeshadow Palette are on another level, and I can’t wait to write my reviews on the other Pat McGrath products I have to show you.
