NYX has launched not one, but three new eyeshadow palettes. The NYX Ultimate Queen Eyeshadow Palettes Collection features three neutral eyeshadow palettes, with a leopard print design on the lids.
This new trio of palettes, joins the brand’s new Thick It, Slick It Slick Brow Gel, as well as the new Plump Right Back collection which also launched in the last two weeks. If you’d like to find out all about these three new palettes, keep on reading…
NYX Ultimate Queen Eyeshadow Palettes Collection
“Introducing royalty: NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Queen Jumbo Eyeshadow Palette featuring creamy shimmers and warm mattes to showcase your inner queen.“
The NYX Ultimate Queen Eyeshadow Palettes Collection includes three palettes, but I’m going to focus on the largest of the palettes, with 40 shades, but there’s also the following palettes within the collection;
- NYX Ultimate Queen Jumbo Shadow Palette $35
- NYX Queen Jumbo Shadow Palette $18
- NYX Mini Queen Jumbo Shadow Palette $7
All three palettes within the collection have a limited edition packaging designed by Artist Kendra Dandy @theebouffants, with a leopard wearing a crown on the front, and NYX describe the palettes as each containing smooth matte and metallic shades fit for a queen.
Looking at these swatches, there’s a heck of a lot of repetition within this 40-pan palette. Plus, you can see these swatches have been done wet, which is an unfair and unrealistic representation of the true colours, pigmentation and finishes.
They look very patchy, even when swatched wet, so I wonder how pigmented and impressive they’d be ‘dry’, and I don’t really understand why there needed to be three palettes? Surely one would suffice?
If you own multiple neutral palettes already in your collection, I’m not sure that you’d need any of the three palettes within the NYX Ultimate Queen Eyeshadow Palettes Collection, as you would get a lot of repetition, but they’re all available right now.
