I’m on somewhat of a mission right now to find a new favourite facial sunscreen. I chose the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Facial Sun Protection SPF50 after reading lots of rave reviews, and I haven’t ever tried any of the No7 suncare products before.
Last summer I loved the Biore sunscreen, which I ordered from YesStyle, but I wanted to find something which was a little more accessible, as my YesStyle orders take weeks to arrive.
No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Facial Sun Protection SPF50
“No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Facial Sun Protection gives unbeatable 5 Star UVA protection and contains an anti-oxidant complex, giving your skin advanced protection against the ageing effects of the sun.
This is combined with clinically proven Protect & Perfect Intense serum technology to tackle existing deep lines and wrinkles.
The lotion is powered by Matrixyl 3000 Plus to help restore more youthful skin, and our skin brightening complex helps to improve the appearance of skin tone and colour whilst also helping to prevent dark spots and hyper-pigmentation. Suitable for use under make up.
Retinyl palmitate is No7’s age-defying pro-retinol ingredient of choice. It supports the skin renewal process to reduce the key visible signs of ageing, while being mild enough to be suitable for sensitive skin.“
The No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Facial Sun Protection SPF50 is £15 and contains 50ml of product within a white, plastic squeezy tube.
In addition to the SPF50, No7 also have SPF15, SPF30 and this one, SPF50. They also have some tinted versions which are said to BB creams, but I only ever use non-tinted sun protection so it can be layered underneath my makeup.
The No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Facial Sun Protection SPF50 is a white, thick cream which has a subtle skincare scent. It’s not a detectable, specific scent, but if you’ve tried other No7 skincare products, this facial SPF has that kind of scent.
I find that the cream massages in OK, but I don’t love how shiny it leaves my skin. I have dry skin and usually want all the glow I can get, but I think the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Facial Sun Protection SPF50 leaves my skin look sweaty shiny, rather than healthy shiny.
I have to use extra powder when setting my foundation when applying over this SPF, otherwise my skin looks glossy, and it’s just not my kind of thing.
If you like a super glowy SPF, I think you’d like this one, and it does layer well under foundation and concealer, but the glossy skin finish isn’t my favourite, and I’ve since repurchased the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+, as I didn’t have any of these issues with that one, but I’m glad I tried this No7 one as it’s raved about so often.
