It’s Wednesday, which can only mean one thing – new Revolution launches, and this week there’s multiple new Makeup Obsession launches including the Makeup Obsession Mega Plump Lip Gloss collection. This new collection of glosses is very obviously inspired by the ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Lip Glosses..
Makeup Obsession Mega Plump Lip Gloss
The Makeup Obsession Mega Plump Lip Gloss collection are £5 each, and available in the following nine different shades:
Basic – a clear shade
Exaggerate – a pale nude shade
Read My Lips – a pinky nude shade
Kiss This – a cool mauve shade
Laters – a bubblegum pink shade
Rate This – a bright coral shade
All Talk – a hot pink shade
Pucker up – a bright red shade
Tingle – a deep plum shade
The ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Lip Glosses are $8/£6.24 per shade, so whilst the Makeup Obsession Mega Plump Lip Gloss aren’t necessarily massively more affordable, they’re something we can buy more easily in the UK.
ColourPop do ship to the UK, but it’s still a two-week delivery period, so I like that there’s a more easily accessible version although the formula isn’t the same as the ColourPop glosses and I can tell you that for definite because I own all twenty shades.
There are swatches of all nine shades on the Revolution website, but I only included four to give you an idea of the formula. Look how streaky the finish is, the gloss has settled into the model’s lip lines and quite frankly looks terrible. None of the ColourPop shades are streaky, nor do they settle into lip lines. You can see how thick and sticky the gloss is on the slanted, plastic applicator.
These Makeup Obsession Mega Plump Lip Gloss look so gloopy and you can see it’s transferred onto the model’s teeth which emphasises how thick and gloopy the formula is. Revolution makes some of my favourite lip glosses such as their I Heart Revolution glosses that are only £3 each and not at all streaky, and their Pout Bomb Plumping Glosses are amazing, and they’re £5, and they don’t gather in lip lines either.
Makeup Obsession is stocked in Boots so it would be worthwhile swatching this Makeup Obsession Mega Plump Lip Gloss shades instore to see if you like the formula, but if the streakiness puts you off, please try their Pout Bomb glosses as they’re so, so good, and they’re the same price as these too!
