People have been hoping a MAC x Stranger Things collaboration was in the works, after it was revealed that MAC’s makeup is actually used on the case of the Stranger Things show.
So, it makes perfect sense that the two entities would collaborate, and if you love Stranger Things, you’re going to love this exclusive, limited edition collection.
The MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration is set to launch this summer, and it features products for the eyes, lips and cheeks, with products themed around the show and the characters.
This new collection is designed to represent the human world within Stranger Things, and then the Upside Down Parallel world, with the collection split into two collections, which is a cool concept.
The Stranger Things MAC Collection is a collaboration between cosmetics brand; MAC Cosmetics and Netflix, designed to celebrate the Stranger Things show, and everything 80s.
If you don’t know what Stranger Things is, it’s an American science fiction horror drama television series created by the Duffer Brothers and streaming on Netflix.
It’s exceptionally popular, and it looks like MAC are wanting to tap into that popularity, especially with Stranger Things Series 4 launching on the 27th of May.
So, what do we know about the MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration? There are going to be two eyeshadow palettes, each of which contain eight powder shadows. There are two makeup brushes, with one eye brush, and one cheek brush.
Then we have six MAC Lip glasses, and two MAC Powder Blushers. It looks like as if the entire MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration is split into two collections.
With six products in forest green packaging, with a Hawkins ‘human world’ theme, and then six products with black and red packaging, which is the ‘Upside Down’ world from the show.
Let’s take a look at all twelve products within the collection.
The first product in the MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration is the MAC x Stranger Things Hawkins Class Of 1986 Eye Palette. It’s designed to look like a bound notebook / jotter, which is a nice touch.
This eyeshadow palette has cardboard packaging, with Property Of Hawkins 1986 on the front, with the tiger logo.
“Show off your school spirit with this eye palette that takes cues from the hallways of Hawkins High. It features a mix of Dazzleshadow Extreme and Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eye Shadows in eight fun shades, allowing you to represent the class of ’86 however you choose.
These saturated colours come encapsulated in limited-edition packaging inspired by Hawkins High of Netflix’s Stranger Things.“
Inside the MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration Hawkins Class Of 1986 Palette, you’re getting eight large powder eyeshadows in a mix of finishes.
Featuring Powder Kiss Matte Eyeshadows and Dazzleshadow Extreme Metallic Eyeshadows. With three matte shades, and five metallic shades, with names themed around the show.

In terms of color story, this palette features a light brown, champagne, tan, forest green, pink, teal, purple and gold.
It’s not the most cohesive color story, but the colors are fitting for the Stranger Things show.
The second palette within the MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration is the MAC x Stranger Things The Void Eyeshadow Palette, which features the same cardboard packaging, and eight-pan layout as the Hawkins Class Of 1986 Palette.
This palette has much grungier packaging, with a black and red design, and I love the packaging design on this palette.
It has a creepy science fiction vibe, which is exactly what Stranger Things is all about, as a show. The attention to detail on this palette is amazing, and I can imagine Stranger Things fans loving this packaging.
“Step into the Upside Down with this eye palette that takes cues from the home of the Mind Flayer itself. It features a mix of Dazzleshadow Extreme and Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eye Shadows in eight subversive shades, allowing you to transform your look however you choose.
These saturated colours come encapsulated in limited-edition packaging inspired by the Upside Down of Netflix’s Stranger Things.“

Inside this palette, you’re getting three Powder Kiss Matte Eyeshadows, and five Dazzleshadow Extreme Metallic Eyeshadows.
Featuring a silver, taupe, lilac, navy, khaki green, red, charcoal and black. I much prefer this color story; it’s so beautiful, and the swatches look super pretty.
Next in the MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration, are the six Lipglass Lip Glosses, with three shades for each of the two sub-collections, and they match the two eyeshadow palettes. All six shades have patterned gloss tubes, which is a nice touch.
“Transform your lips with our unique lip gloss in bright and subversive shades ready to create a subtle cool-kid sheen or otherworldly glass-like shine.
The pigmented formula contains jojoba oil to help soften and condition lips and is the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. Each Lipglass is encapsulated in limited-edition packaging inspired by the iconic worlds of Netflix’s Stranger Things.“
There’s also one more shade of lip gloss in the MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration, and that’s Marvelous Max, but there aren’t any photos of that shade yet.
But it looks like it might be a deep intense berry red. I love that three of the shades are light and bright, and three shades are deep and intense.
The MAC x Stranger Things Collaboration features two powder blushers, each of which have cardboard packaging, and two designs for each shade, to reflect the Upside Down Parallel Universe, which is a really clever concept, and one that Stranger Fans will appreciate.
“Rush into an alternate dimension with a curated flush of soft pink and burnt-red blushes. Each is enriched with vitamin E and formulated to provide fantastic colour to cheeks with ease and consistency.
The powder applies evenly and adheres lightly to skin to achieve natural-looking colour. Encapsulated in limited-edition packaging inspired by the iconic worlds of Netflix’s Stranger Things.”
It gives me retro MAC Pink Swoon Blush vibes from 2014, and it’s a fun, bright color for summer.
Secondly, we have a deeper and more intense shade to represent the Upside Down Parallel Universe, and it’s He Likes It Cold.
It’s such an amazingly unique shade, and is a deep, intense red with a matte finish. You don’t see MAC launch shades like this these days, so it’s nice to see them do something a little different.
In addition to the eyeshadow palettes, two powder blushers and six lip glosses, there’s also two makeup brushes.
There’s the MAC x Stranger Things 140S Full Fan Brush, and the MAC x Stranger Things 217S Blending Brush. They both complement the collection perfectly. It’s an amazing collection for Stranger Things fan, and will be available right here.
