The MAC x Disney Cruella collection launched back in May, and it was the most divisive MAC collection I’ve seen in a long time. People either loved it, or hated it, and the packaging, for me at least, was my favourite part with the lipsticks and blusher compact.
The eyeshadow palette just didn’t do it for me, nor did the brushes, but I bought the MAC x Disney Cruella Sweet-n-Vicious Matte Lipstick as the colour was beautiful, and I loved the split monochrome design on the casing.
“The iconic product that made M·A·C famous now comes in three limited-edition punk-rock reds inspired by the most illustrious looks of Disney’s Cruella.
This sinfully rich formula features high colour payoff in a creamy matte finish. Each Matte Lipstick is dressed to impress in limited-edition two-toned packaging.”
The MAC x Disney Cruella Sweet-n-Vicious Matte Lipstick is one of three lipsticks within the collection. In addition to these ‘bullet’ format lipsticks, there’s also some liquid lipsticks too, depending on your preference, but I definitely prefer conventional bullet lipsticks over liquid lipsticks.
The three shades of lipstick are;
- MAC x Disney De Vil In The Details Matte Lipstick
- MAC x Disney Cruella Sweet-n-Vicious Matte Lipstick
- MAC x Disney Cruella Camden Caper Matte Lipstick
The lipsticks have black plastic bases, with a red metallic MAC logo, and the lid has a black and white split design. Once you take the lid off, the metal part of the lipstick is also metallic red, and it does look very sleek against the monochrome casing, and it’s very Cruella.
The MAC x Disney Cruella Sweet-n-Vicious Matte Lipstick is described by MAC as being a ‘light pink’ which doesn’t do the shade justice whatsoever. I wouldn’t even call it a light pink.
It does translate deeper on the lips too, but it’s a peachy brown shade in these swatches and on my lips. It’s a lovely shade regardless, and even though it’s matte, it has a pretty sheen, and feels comfortable to wear.
