The minute I saw the MAC Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadow Collection on social media, I knew I had to have them. I love sparkly eyeshadows, especially sparkly duochrome eyeshadows.
This beautiful collection of sparkly shadows are part of the MAC Hypnotizing Holiday collection, which is this year’s MAC Christmas collection, and they are absolutely gorgeous.
“Instantly transform their holiday look with bold, shade-shifting eyeshadow colours loaded with the power to presto-chango right in front of your very eyes. This duochrome eyeshadow delivers kaleidoscopic, magical colour with ultra-gliding multi-pearlescent pigments. As the multidimensional shadow catches the light, it sparkles with chromatic reflections for a mesmerising, chameleonic effect on skin. All dressed in hypnotic optical-illusion packages.”
All of this year’s MAC holiday collection is themed around Hypnotizing Holiday, with everything having red, white and black packaging designs, and there are so many different products and sets to choose from. This year’s collection is huge compared to last year’s, and for me, these eyeshadows are the stand out products from the entire collection.
The MAC Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadow Collection includes five individual eyeshadows, and they’re packaged within bright red packaging, with the swirl design on the lids.
Each of the five shadows are £17.50 / $22 each, and they contain 1g of product per shadow, which is quite a lot less product compared to their usual single shadows in their permanent range. Let’s take a look at the five shades wtihin the MAC Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadow Collection…
Prrrplexing – blue flip
Calling Your Bluff – red flip
Right Before Your Eyes – gold flip
Ho Ho Hocus! – green flip
Behind The Curtain – purple flip
I cannot tell you enough, how beautiful all five shades are. They are extremely sparkly and pretty, but only one of the shades is a duochrome, so it’s strange that they’re being marketed as being duochromes.
The only duochrome shade is Right Before Your Eyes, which is a taupe silver, with a green shift, and it’s gorgeous. The other four have a sheer black base, and are loaded with multidimensional shimmer and glitter, for the perfect festive eye makeup look.
They’re so multidimensional, you only need to use one shade in a look, and it looks as if you’ve spent ages applying different shades to achieve the look. I’ve found that the MAC Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadow Collection apply best with fingertips, but they do work with a flat shadow brush too. They’re easily the prettiest holiday launch I’ve tried, and they’re available right now.
