MAC Colour Excess Gel Pencils
“Longwear technology meets silky-smooth, saturated pigment in a lineup of liners with a high definition, technicolor edge. These waterproof, cyber-inspired colors boast 24+ hours of wear on lids and 12 hours of wear on waterlines.”
The MAC Colour Excess Gel Pencils are being marketed as being a waterproof, highly pigmented gel pencil eye liner that wears for 24+ hours on lids and 12 hours on waterlines.
Key Benefits
- Wears for 24+ hours on lids
- Wears for 12 hours on waterlines
- Smooth-glide application
- Waterproof
- Transfer-proof
- Smudge-resistant
- Safe for contact lens wearers
- Ophthalmologist-tested
Each of the MAC Colour Excess Gel Pencils have a retractable format, with colored packaging to match the shade of the liner inside. The formula claims to last for 24 hours on the eyelids, and 12 hours on the waterlines.
It’ll be interesting to see if they indeed last for that long on the waterlines, as it’s notoriously difficult to find a waterline eyeliner which doesn’t run and fade within an hour or so; especially colorful liners!
Line-Lock Technology promises lasting transfer-proof application, while Pigment Alchemy delivers smooth-glide, single-swipe potent payoff.
There are twelve different shades to choose from;
- Incorruptible – white
- Glide Or Die – carbon black
- Serial Monogamist – hunter green
- Graphic Content – aubergine
- Sick Tat Bro – dark brown
- Skip The Waitlist – golden brown shimmer
- Nudge, Nudge, Ink, Ink – dark dirty red
- Commitment Issues – bright lilac
- Perpetual Shock! – cobalt blue
- The Last Word – teal
- Tat Last – fuchsia
- Permanent Vacation – bright yellow gold
The shades in the second photo look quite muted for colorful liners, but it could be that they’re intended to be more pastel than bright.
It’s fun to see MAC do more color, and if they do last for as long as they claim, they’ll be amazing liners, and they’re available right now.
