I wrote about the L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum when it first launched in the US, back in April. It’s strange, as it has a different name in the UK to the US.
In the US, it’s called the L’Oreal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum, but in the UK it’s called the L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum, but it’s definitely the same product, and I couldn’t wait to try it once it finally launched in the UK.

L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum
The L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum is the latest addition to the L’Oreal True Match collection. We’ve seen a lot of True Match launches over the years since the launch of the original True Match Foundation.
I wasn’t ever that much of a fan of the original True Match, but this new tinted serum sounded more like my kind of base product, so I was excited to give it a try.
The L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum has launched in nine different shades. It’s not an inclusive shade range at all, but L’Oreal does make claims that each of the shades cater for multiple different skin tones.
L’Oreal have the following shades;
- 0.5-2 Very Light
- 2-3 Light
- 3-4 Light – Medium
- 4-5 Medium
- 5-6 Medium – Tan
- 6-7 Tan
- 7-8 Tan – Deep
- 8-10 Deep
- 10.5-11 Rich Deep
“Makeup + Skincare = The Perfect Match. Introducing New True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum by L’Oreal Paris – The 1st tinted serum with 1 percent Hyaluronic Acid.
With this tinted serum skin instantly looks brighter, even and feels hydrated for a nude, radiant finish.
The 1% Hyaluronic acid gives skin a hydrated feel and smoothes over time, while the luminous mineral pigments give lightweight coverage for a brightened complexion.”
The L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum is said to be an infusion of makeup and skincare, and claims to be the first tinted serum with 1% hyaluronic acid.
Designed to instantly brighten the skin, whilst evening and hydrating all-in-one for a nude, radiant finish. The 1% Hyaluronic acid instantly hydrates and smooths, while the luminous mineral pigments give lightweight coverage for a brightened complexion.
I bought the L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum in the lightest shade available, which is ‘Very Light 0.5-2’, which is designed to work for those that are the shade 0.5 through to shade 2.0 in their True Match Foundation.
I really didn’t think the shade would work for me, but I’ve been surprised by how flexible the shade is, thanks to the more hydrating, sheer formula.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a shade I can use straight from the bottle, as it is too deep for me, but I only need to add a small amount of lightening drops, in order to make it match. Although I’m not sure how this shade would work up to shade 2.0 of their foundation.
In the bottle, the L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum has obvious shimmer, which you can see in one of the photos above. However, it’s not a shimmery foundation when applied to the skin.
It does have a radiant glow, and it does look beautiful on the skin. However, what wowed me, was how blurring it is on the skin. In the above photo, the lighting isn’t great, but I wanted to include it so you could see how the foundation blurred the surface of the skin, and that’s without primer.
It’s just the foundation, and you can see the texture of my hand in the bottom left-hand corner, and then compare that to the section of skin with the foundation applied, it’s an incredible difference.
I’m shocked by how blurring it is, especially for a sheer luminous formula. You’d usually see perfecting qualities in full coverage foundation, but the L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum is just beautiful on the skin, and wears for around six hours, which again is impressive for a light coverage foundation, and it’s just an amazing foundation for the price!
