Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder Review / Swatches

The Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder is a highlighter I’ve seen on so many blogs, but I hadn’t tried any of the shades until I chose the highlighter as part of my Cult Beauty Ultimate Makeup Bag post on my main blog.

Laura Mercier are such a lovely brand, and I love the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder, so I knew I’d love this more intense highlighter from the swatches I’ve seen.

Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder

Multi-use, multidimensional highlighting powder brings customizable light to face, eyes and décolletage. Prismatic pigments deliver long-wearing illumination that won’t fade or shift.

Using different brushes, you can sweep on the level of illumination you want, where you want it. Modern, compact powder has a soft, creamy texture that applies smoothly and evenly and won’t ever flake or crumble.

Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder Review / Swatches

The Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder is £34.50 and is available in a total of six different shades. The lightest shade available is Devotion, which is described as being a ‘cool pink highlight’ and the highlighter has the prettiest, raised ripped liquid silk effect in the pan.

It looks so beautiful, and the design doesn’t disappear through use either. I hate it when highlighters look pretty in the pan, only for the pattern to disappear as soon as you dip your brush into the pan.

Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder Review / Swatches

The Laura Mercier Face Illuminator Powder is a cool pink shade, which works perfectly for my skintone. This swatch is much more intense than anyone would wear, but it’s super smooth with no chunkiness, no sparkle and no glitter.

It can be applied with a fan brush for a more subtle effect, but if you use a denser brush, you can build it up for an intense, wet look shine but what I love is how flattering it looks on the skin.

It doesn’t emphasise texture, pores or peach fuzz, like some highlighters can. It just looks so pretty, and I totally understand why it’s such a hyped up highlighter, and it’s truly beautiful and you get a generous 9 grams of product within the pan.
