Revolution always know how to drum up excitement whenever they launch a new product, and last week they launched multiple products including the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Eyeshadow Palette Collection.
The I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Eyeshadow Palette Collection is just one of four products in the Heartbreakers Collection, with a range of concealers, blushes and highlighters too. I can’t help thinking a more staggered launch would have been better, so each product could have their own spotlight but alas all four product ranges were launched in one go.

I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Eyeshadow Palette Collection
The I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Eyeshadow Palette Collection consists of six individual eyeshadow palettes, and each palette is £5. The eyeshadow palettes contain nine eyeshadows, in a plastic compact with a clear lid and the eyeshadows contain 0.55g of product per shade.
That is a very small amount of eyeshadow per shade, especially when you consider the I Heart Chocolate Palettes contain 18 shades for £8.99 which contain 1.2g per shade. For £5 you are only getting 4.95g of eyeshadow which is really poor value when you compare it to the other Revolution palettes.
The palettes all have heart shaped pans, and have been designed to have a monochromatic theme like the ColourPop Monochromatic series.
The ColourPop palettes are $12/£9.23, contain nine shades but each of the nine shades contains 1g per shade, so yes the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Eyeshadow Palette Collection look like a much cheaper ‘dupe’ but actually, the ColourPop palettes are cheaper gram for gram.

Are the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Eyeshadow Palette Collection dupes for the ColourPop Monochromatic Palettes? No. Are they pretty palettes? Definitely! For £5,
I think they are very pretty and I particularly love the look of the swatches inside the Sweetheart, Mystical, Majestic and Lucky Palettes. The swatches look a little uneven in the ‘blue’ palette, but blue eyeshadows are notoriously difficult to manufacture regardless of the brand.
I really like that the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Eyeshadow Palette Collection features a range of matte, shimmer and duochrome finishes in all six palettes allowing you a lot of versatility to create a multitude of makeup looks.
I also like that the layout isn’t identical in each palette, so for example you don’t only get matte shades in the corners. There’s a different combination in each of the six palettes, with some having more mattes than others.
The packaging is also really cute, with colour co-ordinated packaging to match the shades inside the palette which will be ideal if you own multiple palettes, as you can easily tell them apart.
I’ve ordered three of the palettes, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the quality compares to their chocolate bar palettes, as they might contain less product as they’re higher quality, which would totally justify the smaller amounts of product per pan. I’ll report back with a full review, once I’ve fully tested my three palettes from the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Eyeshadow Palette Collection.
