It’s Wednesday, which means new Revolution launches. This week Revolution have gone crazy, launching a whole I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection and a whole I Heart Revolution Peach Collection.
I was going to do some of the products individually, but in all honesty there’s nothing in either collection that excites me enough to warrant individual posts.
So, I’ve decided to do an overview post of both collections, talking through the products available and it’s the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection first.
I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection
It always feels strange to me that they launch so many products in one go, as it’s so overwhelming as a consumer, and the products don’t get their individual spotlight.
I like that they chose to launch the palettes first, but including the Peach collection, 13 new products launched today.
I feel like the avocado and peach range to Revolution, are the equivalent to Too Faced and their Sweet Peach range, where they just launch anything they possibly can under the umbrella of a successful product.
If you’d like to see which products launched within the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection, keep on reading.
The mini palette is £6, and contains eight super pretty shades, and the Tasty Avocado Eyeshadow Palette is £10 and contains eighteen shades.
Normally when a brand launches a miniature size of one of their palettes, it contains shades from the larger size but in a more travel friendly mini size.
However, the shades in the mini palette are mostly not shades in the larger size. There are a couple that are, but most of them are new shades.
I actually bought the Tasty Avocado Mini Palette as the shimmers looked so incredibly pretty, but the larger one didn’t appeal to me and from the tutorials I’ve seen Revolution post on their Instagram page, the pigmentation in the larger palette is not that great.
All four of the eyeshadow palettes (two peach and two avocado) have the rubberised, raised lid design which looks cute but it’s not as practical as plastic as the rubber is easily stained, and you can’t wipe it down as easily as say their Chocolate Bar plastic palettes.
The next product within the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection is the I Heart Revolution Tasty Avocado Mascara which is £5. There’s a mascara within the peach collection too, and £5 is a really great price as it’s the cheapest Revolution Mascara they offer.
This mascara has been designed to be good to your lashes, and contains avocado oil which is known for its nourishing properties to help look after your lashes.
The brush features silicone bristles, in a rounded but tapered wand. As it’s part of the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection, the mascara has green packaging with avocado icons all over the tube which again is really cute.
This is a face primer which is designed to be part skincare and part makeup, offering nourishment to the skin thanks to avocado oil and create the perfect base for your makeup.
Compared to their other primers, it feels a little pricey as it doesn’t have any claims that it will prolong your makeup wear, blur imperfections or mattify your skin.
It just says it’s a good base for makeup, but so is skincare so this is a product I would personally skip as it does look a little oily.
The I Heart Revolution Tasty Avocado Brow Gel is the next product within the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection.
The brow gel is £5 and available in four different shades; Clear, Ash Brown, Medium Brown and Dark Brown. There’s no shades for those with blonde or light coloured hair which is a shame.
Revolution recommend their brow gel to leave your brows looking fluffy and ‘full of life’ (Ehrm, OK). The formula is enriched with avocado oil, so it’ll nourish your brow hairs, whilst adding a tint and keeping them set in place.
I really like how tiny the brush looks, and whilst it doesn’t contain fibres, it looks like it could be similar to Benefit Gimme Brow.
The I Heart Revolution Tasty Avocado Cosmetic Bag has been around for quite a long time, but I wanted to include it as it’s still part of the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection. It’s a clear, PVC makeup bag with avocado illustrations all over with a pink zip.
The makeup bag gives me Skinnydip London vibes, but obviously it’s considerably cheaper than a Skinnydip London makeup bag.
Another product within the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection, which didn’t launch today is the I Heart Revolution Tasty Avocado Bath Fizzer.
Revolution launched their bath fizzer range over a year ago now, and this is the avocado shaped bath fizzer which is £4.
From the videos I see Revolution share on their Instagram page, their fizzers look very colourful in the bath but I’d recommend trying to smash the fizzer in at least two pieces as they’re 110g and £4 is a little pricey for one bath.
The I Heart Revolution Tasty Avocado Lip Oil is the next product within the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection, and there’s a peach version too.
The Lip Oil is £5 for 6ml, and it contains avocado oil to nourish, moisturise and prevent dry and chapped lips. It has a sponge tip applicator for an even application, and a shiny, non-sticky finish. These lip oils do look really nice, and the packaging is cute too!
Next up is the I Heart Revolution Tasty Avocado Nourishing Priming Spray which is £6 for 100ml. This spray has my favourite packaging in the whole collection, with a mint coloured bottle and the same avocado illustrations all over.
So many setting sprays are either plain white or black, but this one would really stand out in your collection. It claims to make the skin dewy before makeup collection, with a fresh scent.
The very last product within the I Heart Revolution Avocado Collection is a range which launched today, but they’re not ready for purchase just yet.
It’s the I Heart Revolution Tasty Avocado Lipstick Collection, which are £5 each. I’m not entirely sure why they aren’t available yet, or why they’ve been revealed today if they’re not ready yet.
There are eight different shades to choose from, with a nourishing formula “with a core (which looks like the stone inside a real avocado) filled with nourishing avocado oil”. This isn’t the first time Revolution have done the whole core lipstick thing.
When they first launched, they had the Revolution Amazing Care Lipsticks. They were all clear lipsticks, with a tinted core and in all honesty they weren’t great.
But this formula is different as the core is a brown colour, and you have the lipstick’s colour on the outside. They’re all quite bright, but there is one nude, and one nude pink for those who don’t love bright lipstick shades.
