The Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette launched back in October 2019 as a more ‘colourful’ eighteen palette compared to their The New Nude Palette and the Rose Gold Remastered Palette; both of which I own and love.

Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette
I own a lot of the Huda Beauty eyeshadow palettes; I love them. The New Nude Palette is my all time favourite neutral palette, but the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette was a palette which I never got round to purchasing.
I don’t even know why, as it’s clearly a stunning palette, but I think I thought it was a little *too* colourful for my liking, but after seeing some real life swatches, I realised there was only two colourful shades, and the rest were relatively wearable and neutral.
“18 Intergalatic Shades, Infinite PossibilittesTake your look to infinity and beyond with 18 cosmic shades and 4 innovative textures. With both bold and neutral shades, this palette delivers infinite possibilities.“
The Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette is £58 and contains sixteen shades, within a lilac, translucent acrylic palette, and has a holographic image of Huda on the lid.
It’s a really beautiful palette design, and I love the plastic packaging compared to the cardboard packaging on The New Nude and Rose Gold Remastered palettes. It’s a lot more durable, and helps to protect the shadows too.
Let’s take a look at the swatches….
Cosmic / Utopia / Ultraviolet / Nebula / Mercury / Haze
Off Balance / Galaxy / Libra / Crash / Momentum / Supermoon
Vortex / Hot Mess / Supernova / Karma / Gold Glitch / Frazzled
How pretty are all of these swatches? I have to admit, the bright teal shade in the top row was what as putting me off the entire palette as I’m very much a neutral palette girl. However, if you cover that teal shade up, the rest of the palette is a lot more wearable.
I prefer to wear neutral looks with maybe a pop of colour, rather than an over colourful palette, and I think this palette is perfect for that. It does contain ‘some’ colour, but they are more muted if you were to ignore Haze. Although I can imagine Haze looking really pretty buffed into the lash line for a simple summer makeup look.
My favourite shades within the palette would have to be Gold Glitch as I just love the Huda Beauty marbled eyeshadow formula, Galaxy as it looks like liquid metal on the eyes, and Crash is the perfect cool toned transition shade.
I’m so glad I finally added the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette to my collection, and I really hope we saw more 18 pan palettes from the brand in the near future as I love them.
