Hourglass Universe Ambient Lighting Edit Palette
For the Hourglass 2020 collection, Hourglass launched their beautiful Sculpture collection which included a six pan Ambient Lighting Edit Palette, but there was also a four pan palette within the collection, as well as a Confession Lipstick duo too.
There’s been a lot of pressure placed on Hourglass this year, regarding the lack of inclusivity across their shade ranges, so it’s good to see them create the lighter skin friendly Hourglass Universe Ambient Lighting Edit Palette, and then the Hourglass Universe Unlocked Ambient Lighting Edit Palette as their deeper palette.
The Hourglass Universe Ambient Lighting Edit Palette has brand new packaging this year, and I’m not sure how I feel about it.
It’s a patterned marble tin design, and both palettes have different designs, so you can easily tell them apart, with this palette having beige coloured marble, and the deeper palette has a brown marble pattern.
Usually the Hourglass holiday palettes have shiny plastic compacts, but this year’s palettes come in a tin, just like the tin packaging on their Creator Eyeshadow Palettes.
The tins don’t scream luxury beauty, like their original plastic palettes do. I imagine they’ll be extremely light in the hand, and I guess Hourglass are trying to create recyclable packaging designs.
The Hourglass Universe Ambient Lighting Edit Palette includes five powders, with four smaller shaped pans, and one larger pan, and the powders within this palette are;
- Hourglass Ambient Lighting Infinity Powder
- Hourglass Vibrant Heat Strobe Blush (NEW)
- Hourglass Glistening Bronze Light Bronzer (NEW)
- Hourglass Luminous Rose Blush (NEW)
- Hourglass Supernatural Strobe Light Strobe Powder (NEW)
I love that this Hourglass Universe Ambient Lighting Edit Palette gives four new shades, and only one repromote. The Universe Unlocked Palette gives you three brand new powders, and two repromotes.
Inside this palette, you’re getting one finishing powder, two blushers, one bronzer, and one highlighter, with everything you need in one.
I have to admit, I really do love the look of both palettes. I don’t love the packaging, but the shades inside each palette are so pretty.
The Hourglass Universe Ambient Lighting Edit Palette has launched at SpaceNK right now, and is set to launch on the 24th of September at other stockists, and we know the price in euros will be £79 / $80 / €89.45, and I’ll update this post once we know the price in dollars and pounds. You can check out the new Hourglass holiday palette right here.
