Hourglass Dim Infusion Ambient Lighting Blush Review / Swatches

I own a few Hourglass blushers, but I decided to buy the Hourglass Dim Infusion Ambient Lighting Blush after seeing a makeup tutorial on TikTok, and it looked so pretty and was a shade I couldn’t believe I didn’t already own.

I have a couple of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palettes, but their blushers are my favourite powder formula they do, although their brand new stick blushers are incredible too.

The Hourglass Dim Infusion Ambient Lighting Blush is just one of the shades available as part of the Ambient Lighting Blush collection, where all of the shades feature a ‘radiant’ finish. There’s also the Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush collection, which have more of a shimmer finish, but it was the original formula I enjoyed the most.

The Hourglass Dim Infusion Ambient Lighting Blush is £38 / $40 and contains 4.2g / 0.15oz of product within a metallic, gold slightly domed plastic compact.

There’s a mirror inside the lid, and the compacts feel a lot lighter than they look. They still look luxurious, but as the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers feel so light, they just don’t ‘feel’ as luxurious as say a DIOR or Chanel blusher.

Hourglass describes the Hourglass Dim Infusion Ambient Lighting Blush as being a subdued coral blush fused with Dim Light to add warmth. The whole ideal of the Ambient Light Blushers, are that all of the shades are mixed with different shades of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Face Powders, to give you the glow of the powder, but the colour of a blusher.

The Dim Infusion is supposedly a mix of the Hourglass Dim Light Ambient Lighting Powder blended with a subdued coral, which sounded like my perfect kind of blush. I love blush, but I like it to look natural and not too vibrant, which is what you get with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers.

I always find the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers difficult to swatch, because the powder has a marbled design with the base face powder mixed with the blusher, and nobody would apply blusher as intensely as the swatch above.

It’s just the prettiest, subtle coral which looks amazing with any eye or lip colour. It’s definitely pale skin friendly, so I don’t think it would work on those with skin’s much deeper than mine, but I love it so much.

It reminds me of a more muted version of the Pure Effect Blush shade within the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 3, and it’s fast become one of my favourite powder blushers.

I know the Hourglass blushers are pricey, but for me, they’re worth it as I’ve never found a drugstore blusher which offers the same finish and glow. So many blushers are shimmery or matte, but the Hourglass Dim Infusion Ambient Lighting Blush has a beautiful glow which never looks like makeup. It just looks like your natural skin, and that’s exactly what I want from a blusher.
