Another day, another collaboration, and this time it’s the HipDot x Clueless Collaboration. HipDot have become *the* brand for collaborations, with their last four launches being collaborations. We’ve seen a My Chemical Romance collab, Hello Kitty collab, Reese’s collab, and now the HipDot x Clueless Collaboration.
The HipDot x Clueless Collaboration is launching on the 11th of May both on the HipDot website, and also on the ULTA Beauty website. Just like all of their collabs, this is going to be another limited edition collection, so if you like the look of anything in the collab, make sure you snap it up asap to avoid disappointment.
As far as collaborations go, I think the HipDot x Clueless Collaboration looks well executed, with not only the products being themed around Clueless, but the packaging designs too.
The CEO of HipDot said he wanted to create a makeup collection that embodies that ‘teen nostalgia’ that Clueless captures so well, and I think they’ve done an excellent job in doing that.
Whilst the collection won’t be for everyone, if you love Clueless, I imagine you’ll really enjoy this collection, and the attention to detail. Let’s take a look at the products within the collection.
The first product within the HipDot x Clueless Collaboration is the HipDot x Clueless 411 Eyeshadow Palette which is $32 and contains twelve shades, each of which are named after different Clueless catchphrases.
This palette has cardboard packaging, but the lid of the palette is lined within pink faux fur, which couldn’t be more 90’s if it tried. The mirror has the printed design of an ornate picture frame bordering the mirror which is a really cute touch too.
Next in the Clueless Collaboration is a cute three piece lip oil set. The HipDot x Clueless Total Bettys Lip Oil Set is $24, and includes a nude, bright red and mauve shade, each of which have patterned lids to match the tartan print of Cher’s iconic skirt and blazer set from the movie.
This palette is designed to look like a flip phone from the 90’s with a baby pink colour, and a heart shaped mirror inside the lid. Whilst it’s a blush palette, you could totally use these shades as eyeshadows if you wanted to.
Inside the palette, there are four powder blushers / highlighters depending on your skintone, including a bright pink, a bright peach, a shimmery rose gold and a deep terracotta.
For those that are total Clueless fans, there’s the HipDot x Clueless Collection Bundle which is $82, and includes the eyeshadow palette, the lip oil trio and also the blusher palette too.
The last piece in the collection is for Cher wannabes, and is the item which will undoubtedly sell out quickly once it launches on the 11th of May.
Inside the box you get all three products in the collection (the eyeshadow palette, the blush palette and lip oil trio) as well as a Clueless fluffy pen, just like the one Cher uses in the movie.
I think this collection has been really well executed, with great attention to detail, and it does the movie justice. This collection has been created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Clueless (which was last year – so this could actually be a delayed collection launch), and you from the 11th of May, you’ll find the collection right here.
