Giorgio Armani are one of my favourite highend brands, so I’m always excited by a new Armani launch, especially if it’s a base product.
The Giorgio Armani Designer Essence in Balm Mesh Cushion Foundation is their newest foundation launch, and I am in love with the super sleek packaging design.

The Giorgio Armani Designer Essence in Balm Mesh Cushion Foundation has a formula that melts onto your skin giving you instant radiance and glow while providing SPF 50/PA+++ protection.

Application Tips
When using for the first time, Armani recommend that you gently rub the mesh in a circular motion with the applicator several times to activate the formula.
Apply gently by:
– Tapping like a cushion for low coverage
– Rubbing like a compact for medium coverage
– Wiping like a cream for higher coverage
The Designer Essence-In-Balm Mesh Cushion can also be applied with a foundation brush, to deliver higher coverage with a perfect, professional finish.
The Giorgio Armani Designer Essence in Balm Mesh Cushion Foundation formula has been created to offer multiple benefits for the complexion.
They’ve created a combination of electric blue pigments and pearls which counteract dullness and deliver instant radiance too. The skin is protected from both UVA and UVB rays thanks to SPF50/PA+++.
Infused with glycerine and hyaluronic acid, the formula also provides long-lasting hydration to the skin, and the high water composition offers a fresh and lightweight texture.
The foundation’s cushion design with a mesh layer allows for a controlled and even application, whilst the three application gestures (a tap, rub or wipe) offer endlessly adaptable coverage.

The Giorgio Armani Designer Essence in Balm Mesh Cushion Foundation is £72 to purchase as a whole, but you can also purchase the puff applicator separately and purchase refills to refill the compact once you’ve bought the full compact.
The pack of two Mesh Cushion Applicators is £10.50, and the refill containing 14g of product is £48.
In all honesty, the shade range isn’t the best but cushion foundations always have a much smaller shade range compared to the average foundation bottle format.
- 2 – light with a cooler undertone
- 3 – light with a neutral undertone
- 4 – medium with a warmer undertone
- 5 – medium with a cooler undertone
There are only four shades of the Giorgio Armani Designer Essence in Balm Mesh Cushion Foundation; 2, 3, 4 and 5. So there’s definitely room for expansion, but if you are able to find a shade match the formula of this new foundation sounds so lovely.
