Magnetic lashes are everywhere right now, and it feels like every beauty YouTuber is doing videos on magnetic false lashes. The Eylure ProMagnetic Magnetic Eyeliner and Lash System has just launched both in the UK and the US, and the reviews have been very mixed.
Every time the Eylure Instagram account posts about their new Eylure ProMagnetic Magnetic Eyeliner and Lash System, there are tonnes of negative comments from people that have tried the lashes and liner and had a negative experience, so what is the Magnetic Eyeliner and Lash System?

How to use Magnetic Eyeliner and Magnetic False Lashes?
Apply 3 coats of liner across entire length of lash line. Allow each layer to dry completely.
PRO TIP 1: To get the best look for your eye shape start with a light layer. Continue to build a fuller line with your 2nd and 3rd coat.
PRO TIP 2: For best magnetism build liner to be as thick as the lash band.
Apply lashes directly to liner and press to secure.
PRO TIP: If you need to remove lashes to adjust, make sure to re-apply fresh coats of liner before reattaching.
The Eylure ProMagnetic Magnetic Eyeliner and Lash System is available in just two lash styles; Accent and Wispy, and both kits are £20 each. Each kit contains the ProMagnetic eyeliner in a 2.5ml size and a pair of faux mink lashes. I think £20 is pricey for one pair of lashes and a liner, but the lashes are luxurious faux mink lashes that can be worn upto 15 times as there is no glue involved.
The kits are $16.99 in the US, but retailers have slashed the price to $11.89 which might be down to the huge amount of negative reviews everywhere – including the ULTA website where there are 95 one-star reviews, and an overall 2.7 out of 5 star ranking from 217 reviews. I haven’t watched one positive review video on these lashes, and a lot of that is down to the application.
The directions tell you that you need to do three coats of the eyeliner in order to get the magnets on the lashes to stick. Three coats is so excessive and when the tube of eyeliner only contains 2.5ml, it’s going to run out extremely quickly.
The other issue with the Eylure ProMagnetic Magnetic Eyeliner and Lash System is trying to line each eye three times, as it’s so time-consuming and the whole selling point of glue free false lashes, is the convenience and no-fuss application, but applying lashes with lash glue would be 100 times quicker than applying the eyeliner, waiting for it to try before applying a second coat and then doing the same for a third.
Both lash styles within the Eylure ProMagnetic Magnetic Eyeliner and Lash System kits look very pretty, and the magnets look tiny compared to the magnets I’ve seen on Ardell magnetics lashes. For £20 they’re very pricey, especially if they’re not effective if the reviews are anything to go by.
I think it’s great that a drugstore brand has created a magnetic liner and lash system but nobody has time for applying eyeliner six times in total across both eyes, and even more so if they don’t stick very well once you have.
