Collection have today launched some new and sparkly… meet the Collection Glam Crystals Glitter Balm. Lots of brands are launching glitter themed products right now, as the global crisis wouldn’t have even been a thing whilst these products were all in production.
It can take years to develop and manufacture a product, so these brands would have assumed this summer would be packed with festivals all over the globe. Alas, none of us will be attending any festivals any time soon, but they’re still a fun product to experiment with, once life gets back to “normal”.
Collection Glam Crystals Glitter Balm
The Collection Glam Crystals Glitter Balm is currently exclusive to the Collection website, but they will be launching at Collection retailers like Boots and Superdrug very soon.
The Collection Glam Crystals Glitter Balm is £4.99 and available in three shades;
- Sequins – Packed with iridescent silver & gold glitters. The perfect summer companion.
- Pinkie Promise – Packed with finely milled pink & purple glitters. A Festival must have.
- Stardust – Packed with bronze & orange toned glitters. Layer over a smokey eye for statement glitter look.
Each of the three shades are small circular plastic jars, with a metallic screw on lid. They’re described as being an innovative, vegan, glitter packed gel that glistens and shines at every angle.
Collection claim they’re a gentle lightweight formula that glides on easily, which adheres to the skin without needing to use any glue, for a 100% quick and simple glitter option.
It’s a little concerning that the Collection Glam Crystals Glitter Balm can be used on the eyes, face, hair and body. The glitter pieces look very chunky, and you can only use FDA approved eye safe glitter near your eyes, and some of these glitter pieces are definitely not a size/shape to be eye safe.
There’s no mention on their website that they are eye safe, and glitter can be very damaging if it’s not specifically eye safe. It can scratch the cornea, get into the tear film and irritate the eyes, and cause a corneal infection or irritation so please be careful when using any glitter products near your eyes.
I would recommend contacting Collection before purchasing one of the Collection Glam Crystals Glitter Balm shades if you were planning to use them on your eyes to check if they’ve been created with FDA approved eye safe glitter as they really don’t look like they are.
For the face, body and hair, they do look very pretty and I like that they’ve been created with a fast-drying formula so you don’t have to wait around for them to dry. If you like the look of them, they’re available via the Collection website right now.
