Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream Light Review

I received the Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream Light within one of Cult Beauty’s 2020 gift with purchase bundles, and it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I own and use the original Magic Cream, and I do really enjoy it.

It’s a very rich, and intensive moisturiser which will be too heavy for those with oily or combination skin types, so this Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream Light version makes perfect sense, and it launched back in May 2020.

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Magic Cream Light Review

Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream Light

I really like the original Charlotte’s Magic Cream, but even though I have super dry skin, it’s way too rich to use as my morning moisturiser as it’s extremely rich and intensive, and leaves my skin very glowy and shiny.

It’s almost like applying a hydrating face mask (in a good way), but the Charlotte Tilbury Charlottes Magic Cream Light is just perfect for daily use, and for use by those with oily-combination skin.

The light version of the award-winning moisturiser is described as being a lightweight miracle moisturiser featuring SPF20 PA++, anti-blue light and anti-pollution technology to protect the skin, which aren’t features within the original Magic Cream.

Inspired by my AWARD-WINNING Charlotte’s Magic Cream, Magic Cream Light is my NEW! GROUND-BREAKING, lightweight moisturiser for the appearance of BRIGHTER, PLUMPER, SMOOTHER, YOUTHFUL looking skin!

WHY I CREATED MAGIC CREAM LIGHT… Everyone was ALWAYS asking me for a RESEARCH-POWERED, LIGHT-AS-AIR moisturiser with a VEIL-LIKE TEXTURE that made skin appear MATTIFIED and SMOOTHER, so I created Magic Cream Light, a NEW! SUPERCHARGED, ultra-hydrating formula that’s PERFECT for summer and warmer climates!

The Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream Light has different packaging to the original. The original version is housed within a weighty plastic jar, but this lighter version has a much runnier consistency.

Instead, it’s packaged within a white plastic bottle, with a pump dispenser which is a little more practical and hygienic compared to the jar packaging.

In terms of consistency, the Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream Light couldn’t be more different to the original. The original has a thick, rich cream consistency, but this lighter version is more like a lotion.

It has a sun cream scent too, and feels a bit like a sun lotion to apply. Whereas the original Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream is a thick, white cream with a very strong fragrance.

If you have oily skin, or dislike the heavy fragrance, I feel like you’d really appreciate the Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream Light formula.

I personally don’t love the heavy sunscreen fragrance, and I feel like it leaves a subtle film on the skin, which I don’t enjoy, which is funny as it’s the lighter weight version. I much prefer the richer, original formula, but I’m still glad I tried this version.
