I got a sample of the By Terry Baume de Rose Hand Cream as a freebie at the start of the year, when By Terry had a really great sale, and I’d never given it a try.
I’d tried a few By Terry products, but I didn’t even know they had a hand cream until I received it in my order, so I had no idea what the formula was going to be like.
“The Baume de Rose Hand Cream is pure luxury for the hands. Concentrated signature rose formula combines rose butter, rose blossom essential wax, rosehip oil, black rose extract and pastel rose extract that work to moisturize, rejuvenate and nourish dry, cracked hands making them silky soft, smooth and supple.
The lightweight, velvety cream texture melts into the skin upon application. Protects all year round. The delicate rose scent indulges the senses. A handbag essential you ‘can’t live without’.”
I personally wouldn’t pay £32 for a hand cream, especially when one of my favourite hand creams is the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Hand Cream, which is under £5.
However, I managed to pick up the By Terry Baume de Rose Hand Cream when they had a 40% sale, which made the price a lot more reasonable.
The By Terry Baume de Rose Hand Cream has a thick consistency which doesn’t go very far. I have to use quite a lot of product to cover the entirety of my hands, which isn’t ideal for an expensive hand cream.
But once you have applied enough, you don’t need to reapply throughout the day, so you’d use the same amount of product during the day, as it’s nourishing enough to keep your hands hydrated for a good four to six hours.
The scent of the By Terry Baume de Rose Hand Cream is very strong, with a sweet powdery rose scent which smells like the Baume de Rose Lip balm. So if you enjoy the scent of the balm, you’ll love the scent of this hand cream.
It’s a very nice hand cream, and I really do enjoy using it, but I’d only ever repurchase if it was on a 40% discount, as whilst it’s a luxurious treat, I still think it’s too expensive at the full price, for a hand cream.
