Cleansing balms have fast become my favourite type of cleanser, so I was really intrigued by the new By Beauty Bay Butter Cup Cleansing Balm, which has launched as part of the Beauty Bay skincare collection. Many rave about the Beauty Bay makeup products, but their skincare is really underrated, and everything is super affordable too.
“The first step in your skincare routine is here. The Butter Cup Cleansing Balm with Oat Lipid and Chamomile from the Skincare By BEAUTY BAY range is a rich cleansing balm designed to deeply cleanse the skin and melt away stubborn makeup to leave the skin feeling clean and comfortable.“
The By Beauty Bay Butter Cup Cleansing Balm is made with 86% naturally derived ingredients, with a nourishing and moisturising formula, which features ceramide-rich oat lipids to help replenished the skin, whilst cleansing. While soothing, chamomile helps to calm stressed or inflamed skin.
Beauty Bay claim the By Beauty Bay Butter Cup Cleansing Balm is perfect for the skin’s first cleanse in the evenings, as it effortlessly removes makeup and SPF, leaving the skin cleansed, soothed and calmed.
- Cruelty free
- Suitable for all skin types
- Spatula and muslin cloth included
The By Beauty Bay Butter Cup Cleansing Balm is a solid balm with no detectable fragrance, and comes with a mini spatula for scooping the balm from the jar, as well as a muslin cloth to use with the balm to cleanse and gently exfoliate the skin.
It feels firm within the jar, but the second the balm touches the warmth of the skin, the balm melts into a rich, emollient oil which spreads easily over the skin, meaning you don’t need very much product at all.
I love how the balm transforms into a silky oil on contact with the skin, and the formula delivers on the claims of effortlessly removing makeup.
It’s very gentle, and I’ve been able to use it to remove my eye makeup without any stinging or irritation, which might be due to the high percentage of natural ingredients.
I do wonder if that was intentional, as both formulas feature camomile, but the By Beauty Bay version is more affordable for the exact same amount of product.
I think I actually prefer the Beauty Bay version too, and it comes with a muslin cloth and spatula, and The Body Shop’s version doesn’t, so I highly recommend giving the By Beauty Bay Butter Cup Cleansing Balm a try.
