The Bite Beauty Power Move Soft Matte Lipsticks launched back in July, and it was a super buzzed about collection. Bite Beauty only just launched in the UK in the last few weeks, which is very exciting, and I’ve been testing out three shades from the lipstick collection.

Bite Beauty Power Move Soft Matte Lipsticks
“This creamy, non-drying lipstick, made with tapioca pearls mixed with fatty acid waxes, features a velvety matte finish that looks (and feels) good on lips. The feather and fade-resistant formula comes in 20 crave-worthy shades and glides on for instant, no-fuss, bold color.”
Bite Beauty aren’t messing around with their new Bite Beauty Power Move Hydrating Soft Matte Lipstick Collection, as they’ve launched twenty different shades. Some brands launch several shades for a brand new formula, but not Bite, and there’s such a great mix of shades to choose from.
The formula is described by Bite Beauty as being clean, vegan and hydrating, and is a soft-matte finish lipstick, which is said to be powered by nourishing cocoa butter for a lasting lightweight colour.
Key Ingredients
- Cocoa Butter: Helps moisturize and condition lips.
- Tapioca Pearls Mixed with Fatty Acid Waxes: Create the velvety matte finish for creamy, comfortable wear.
The Bite Beauty Power Move Hydrating Soft Matte Lipsticks have very similar packaging to the ‘old’ style Bite Beauty bullet format lipsticks.
They both feature the same rubberised plastic charcoal casing, with a curved tip to the lid of the lipstick. They look very sleek, and the lipstick bullets look like silky velvet.
The Bite Beauty Power Move Soft Matte Lipsticks are available in the following twenty gorgeous hues;
- Sugar Buns – pink nude
- Cayenne – fiery warm-toned red
- Chai – mauve brown
- Fig – warm pink
- Maple – deep wine red
- Tannin – brick red
- Pomelo – peachy pink
- Tamarind – soft caramel
- Praline – honey nude
- Sesame – honey beige
- Hot Tomato – bright cool-toned red
- Beetroot – bold berry
- Juniper – medium rose pink
- Extra Sugar Buns – deep pink nude
- Pluot – dusty mauve
- Harissa – warm terracotta
- Mulberry – muted cranberry
- Ginger Malt – true brown nude
- Radicchio – bright magenta
- Espresso Brava – deep purple brown
From the twenty shades, I have three of the Bite Beauty Power Move Soft Matte Lipsticks;
- Sugar Buns
- Chai
- Hot Tomato
So many brands claim their matte formulas offer a velvet finish, but these new Bite Beauty Power Move Soft Matte Lipsticks feel and look like genuine velvet. So smooth, with a matte finish and zero shine.
They’re not as opaque as I thought they would be for a matte lipstick, and these swatches are four swipes of each bullet, so you do need to build up the colour should you want fully opacity.
There’s no obvious scent, but the rubberised packaging feels luxe, and I really like the Bite Beauty logo on the bullets. They are super matte, yet they’re uncomfortable, without leaving your lips feeling dry at the end of the day, like some matte formulas can.
If you love a matte lip, you have to try the new Bite Beauty Power Move Soft Matte Lipsticks, as they’re one of the most comfortable matte lipstick formulas I’ve ever tried, and they wear for five to six hours before needing touch ups too.
