The Birchbox April 2021 beauty box is the last box in my six-month subscription which I purchased as part of their Black Friday deals. It’s been nice trying their boxes again, but I have already cancelled my subscription.
I’ve only truly enjoyed one of the six boxes. I might re-subscribe if they have decent deals again this Black Friday, but for me, their boxes are just so repetitive and lack excitement.
For £13 a month, I’d rather purchase one off limited edition boxes from Birchbox instead. I personally much prefer Lookfantastic as a monthly subscription beauty box, and the contents are a lot more varied in comparison.
Birchbox April 2021
The Birchbox April 2021 is a little different to the usual Birchbox edits, as this month’s box has been replaced with a Stasher silicone pouch. It looks like there’s different colours available, and they’re chosen at random, and I got a teal pouch.
It’s designed to be a resuable pouch, and Birchbox have been sharing tips on how to use your Stasher pouch, and how to clean it over on their Instagram. It’s good you can have something which you can reuse, but I do prefer their cardboard boxes myself.
The first product inside the Birchbox April 2021 edit is The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes Waterproof Mascara, which is worth £9. It’s said to be nourished with argan oil and jojoba for smudge-proof, all day wear.
Next up is the Algologie Hydra-Replenishing Booster, which is in a sample size. It’s said to be a gelified moisturising serum designed to deliver immediate hydration and comfort by increasing water reserves in the epidermis as well as stimulating the circulation of water between cells.
Next up in the Birchbox April 2021 is the OPI Nail Polish in the shade Lavendare To Find Courage, and it’s a full sized polish. I love OPI nail polishes, so this is definitely the best item inside the box by far. It’s a beautiful pastel lilac, and is a shade I’ll get a lot of wear from!
Huygens featured in yet another box, and were in February’s box, so it’s disappointing to see such repetition. There are so many amazing beauty brands out there, so brand repetition shouldn’t happen so soon, especially when it’s a tiny sample for both months too. This month’s box contains the Huygens L’Huile Visage Elixir Nuit Organic Night Repair Oil.
The last product in the Birchbox April 2021 edit is the Greenfrog Botanic Argan Oil & Rose Oil Shampoo Bar, and is 23g. I don’t like using shampoo bars myself, as I don’t find that they do an effective job at cleansing my hair, but those that have been wanting to try one, will be happy to receive this inside the box.
Beauty boxes are so subjective. I found this box (and five out of six boxes I had) to be disappointing, but some will have loved the boxes. I just don’t like how bad Birchbox are for repetition, but the nail polish is pretty, and I can’t wait to give it a try.
